The unofficial Rock Band thread.

Downloads for the week of July 6:

Red Hot Chili Peppers -- "Snow (Hey Oh)"

Red Hot Chili Peppers -- "Tell Me Baby"

Rush -- "Closer to the Heart"

Rush -- "Working Man (vault edition)"

Nice, I'd get all of em, if, Working Man is different somehow.

This is what I found about the new Working Man:

"This version, however, is an alternate-take master from the same session [Rush] recorded the hit with an alternate solo. It has never been released."

GH:WT would have to be unbelievable for me to go that route. We really prefer Rock Band. It's just more fun. No distracting skulls flowing down the fret chart, easier to read the charts, WAY more songs, etc. We love our DLC and have over 160 songs now. By the time RB2 comes out, our library will be approaching 300 songs or more. The variety makes it a lot more fun to play with a bunch of different people, and we're not nearly as sick of the original disc songs as the average person I play with online.

As for the Strat working with GH:A, it absolutely does. No ifs ands or buts about it. Works 100%. Hell, works BETTER than the Les Paul for me, as I can call up overdrive much easier than with the LP.

Can't wait for The Who pack next week.

I wonder if I can just use the control connector-thingy and plug in the pads from my Alesis electronic drum kit? I would pay $50 to do that (real drum heads FTW).

It's confirmed that you will be able to copy songs over from RB1 for a fee. I kind of want to do this, but it depends if they mean the entire disc or only select songs.

ME WANT!!!!

So is anyone that already owns the Rock Band set going to buy the whole Rock Band 2 set to get the new instruments? I wonder if it'd be easy to unload the drums.

Now would probably be the time to do it. Once the new stuff hits, I can't imagine many people buying them unless they were pretty cheap.

I kind of want to, but then again, I dunno.

^ Yeah, but selling the drums now means my "band" can't play drums until RB2.

Regarding today's DLC, Baba O'Riley may be an awesome song, but it really doesn't lend itself to Rock Band. :(
