The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

YouTuber Grace Randolph claimed in a recent video that Matt Reeves is dealing with a serious personal issue right now, and compared it to the late Chadwick Boseman's health issues. There's nothing official from Reeves or Warner Bros, so take that with a huge truckload of salt, but it could explain the Batman 2 delays. :(

There is something I don't understand in this article: will Lionsgate make an agreement with a platform like Netflix etc. and leave the approval and budget of the TV series to them? Or will it be like publishing its own movies internationally with the importer method. Will the new John Wick TV series make a distribution agreement with local platforms in each country, for example: Tubi in the USA, TOD in Mena, will Lionsgate make an agreement with any local platform in Turkey, give the budget itself and decide how many seasons the show will continue? I feel like there will be a second one.

If there will be a second one, I think it can be released on several platforms in each country.
It seems to me like they will give Hulu or Peacock in the USA and Netflix on a weekly basis at the same time on Global. Or they will make exclusive deals with local streaming platforms and TV channels in 190 countries. Or it will be broadcast on Netflix all over the world including the USA. But I wonder if the platforms provide the budget for such 3rd party original high budget productions or if the production company covers it itself? After all, it is an expensive business. Also, if I remember correctly, The Continental was sold to Prime Video on Peacock Global in the USA after it was shot for the Starz channel owned by Lionsgate at the time. It had a budget of 20 million dollars per episode. 60 million dollars in total.

Those 'Rebel Moon' movies that Zack Snyder has been threatening us with?
They're going to be turned into a prequel trilogy from Titan Comics and written by Gail Simone.

Oh please be good. Amy Heckerling, writer and director of the original is returning, which is definitely a plus, but it’s as an exec producer rather than creative. Still, it doesn’t hurt.

I could see this working as a mother daughter contrast show. Cher is still kind of shallow and quirky, but with a sense of understanding that their are serious things in the world while her daughter on the surface is all , fight the power, make the world better radical type but also you seee she also has some I guess you could say girly tastes like being into makeup and maybe her favorite show is The Real Housewives of something or other.

Got contrasting personalities that creates comedy conflict but also the ability to connect as well on some stuff.

They had to have some kind of internal continuity with the series. And they did make a noble attempt at tying it in (at least with the first film) by bringing in a short cameo with Connor. If they treated the show the same way the movie franchise was treated, people would likely have stopped watching it after episode 3.
