The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Sounds like it might be a modern, bigger budgeted version of "The Day After." Sounds like a great idea for a movie. Though I would prefer a mini-series to explore the idea in my depth.

Bet it still won't be as grim as Threads which made the Day After look like a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Hopefully they will do a better job this next time. One upside this time is maybe they will have a bigger budget to make something more cinematic and less like NBC television .

So they did do this already once? I'm not crazy? Thank god, I can go tell the leprechaun that lives in basement that I'm same, he will be so happy to hear this. Or he'll tell me to burn down the local 5g towers. He does that sometimes.

CBS wants to bring back Cold Case with a brand new set of characters who can solve decades-old cases originally investigated by lazy cops in only one day.

According to TVLIne, it will also be a in a different area of the country (the southwest) - although I guess that could lead to more CSI crossovers.

I kind of like this idea. Hope they keep the concept of using popular music and also those sort of flash cuts where you see what the person looks like vs what they used to look like.

Dear God. It's not a reboot (yet) but a reimagining: Margot Robbie (who else?) is now slated to be in the film version of MONOPOLY. Like Hollywood doesn't already exercise one. Stop the world.

If we are lucky, we will get a movie the the same moral that the board game was originally designed to have, which is to demonstrate how monopolies are bad.

They are learning the wrong lessons again. Barbie was not a hit because it was based on a toy doll. Not completely anyways. Besides the only way to make a Monopoly movie work is if the star is the Monopoly guy. If only Patrick Stewart was younger.

If the bad guy doesn't win at the end of the Monopoly movie, they are doing it wrong.

But doesn't he have to at some point, Go Directly to Jail? He needs to also own a race car and a battleship and a shoe, top hat and thimble.
