Okay here is one. Bartender who listens to peoples problems and then goes solves them which are almost always crime related.
Police secretary who often faces sexist behavior from mostly male cops who are also not good at their jobs. So she often looks at police files and investigates crimes on her own, solving them but always in secret staying one step ahead of the regular cops.

I never watched Hack, but I remember there was a lot of excitement because they filmed the show entirely in Philadelphia. A down on his luck carney is approached by a special cop division that investigates carnival murders throughout the state of Texas. Seems 3 out 7 murders in Texas are done at carnivals according to a fact that is no doubt a lie they just made up. This down on his luck carney use to be a cop and they want him back because he has both cop and carney experience. First episode he has to save the governor of Texas from being killed while exploring a funhouse he went into because he came to the carney for a photo op.

Is that show any good? Lord knows I've seen enough ads for it on ION but I've never sat through an episode. Looks like it has the potential to be charming.
Also, I can't believe that I forgot about Veronica Mars. I love that show! She even has the voiceover. "Wanna know how I lost my virginity? God, I wish I did."
Kinda reminds me of the set-up for the new Prime Suspect prequel series-- Tennison.

Private Eyes is a lot like Castle in many ways, with a lot more variety in cases since they aren't working with the cops directly most of the time and rarely investigating murders. I grew up with The Rockford Files/Magnum PI/Simon and Simon and I enjoy it.

2. Resurrecting Humphrey Bogart was something that I was planning on doing anyway.
BTW, I looked up the Powers Boothe TV show on Amazon. Looks like it's out of print, though there are a few decently priced used copies.

This show had a *62 episode* 8th season in 2011-2012?! How does that happen in this day and age? Even Doctor Who only topped out at 45 episodes in a season, and they haven't produced close to that in more than 50 years.

Anger Management had two seasons for a total of 100 episodes. Season one was 10 episodes and season 2 was 90. They just crank out shit sitcoms so they can get syndication rights.

Supposedly it's considered "one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture". I guess that's why I never heard of it.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers made 60 episodes in its first season. Granted, this is usually something that you only see with kids shows that usually burn out after a couple seasons. The fact that this would happen with a show in its 8th season when they already had 192 episodes in the bank is pretty damn unusual.
Fox is doing a pilot about genealogists who use forensics to solve crimes.
I remember that when it was called "Bones" (archaeologists who use forensics to solve crimes.)
