The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

  • Thread starter Rowdy Roddy McDowall
  • Start date
They already tried to do a Oceans Eleven movie without Clooney,Pitt, etc and it didn't work. Time to give up or at least try something new. Maybe return the 60's setting of the very first one with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

In a move which will surprise no one, a medical spin-off set in the Fire Country/Sheriff Country universe is in development.

Going after the One Chicago series. How about Dermatology Country? Since the franchise takes place in California, lots of people who tan themselves to death.

It didn't? Ocean's Thirteen, with Clooney and Pitt, made $ 311 million against a budget of $ 85 million, Ocean's 8 made $ 297 million against a budget of $ 70 million. So, at least financially, it wasn't any less successful.

I wonder why they didn't do a follow up with the same cast.

One thing it won't be is a version of the Great Glass Elevator since Dahl had in his will that it never be adapted.
Roald was kind of particular about adaptations of his work. But GGA would be Ok with modern CGI, long as they just adapted the first part (with the Vermicious Knids). Second part's been done better in other stories. Yes, we get it, getting old and dying is good, whatever.
