The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

How about a 2020s version of some Irwin Allen shows like Land Of The Giants, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, The Time Tunnel, with contemporary humour and characters?
You have a point. The Lost In Space reboot was terrific compared to the original. Use that formula with your suggestions and they might be great!

I always thought Land Of The Giants would be ripe for horror. But make the Earth people slightly bigger than a hand maybe the same size as a barbie so there would be some chance of fighting back, but go down a horror route.

Maybe a few ships from Earth crashed on the giants world and humans are being kept as pets / studied / and or abused, forced to breed as slaves of some kind.

They already are. I posted back in February of 2025, that Legendary Studios has bought the rights to Irwin Allen's 'Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea', 'The Land Of The Giants', and 'The Time Tunnel', and plan to reintroduce them as a shared universe in the next year or so.

Yeah but that won't do a horror take on LOTG. That would be my dream reboot project something silly from the 60s but done serious and for horror

They are still trying to make that? Waste of time. Those movies are all about Johnny Depp doing his thing as Sparrow. Pointless to do them without him.

Good lord, it's amazing how many words were in that thing, but how it really said nothing.

"We aim to further grow the scale of the business and further increase the value of the brand over the long term by leveraging the strengths of the Sony group"

Yeah, IMHO, the time has passed. He'll likely be down to a support role or they'll find a way to make him look younger via CGI. In other words, it will be a CGI-fest.
