Seriously, IMO what turned a lot of people off of Trek in the 90s was the overreliance on tech as a solution to every problem. Sucked all the drama right out of everything. "If we recalibrate the chronometric phased inducers to emit a tachyo-neutronic particle stream..."
This just sounds to me like more of the same. If that's what floats your boat, cool. But for me Trek needs to get back to basics (fully realized characters, compelling stories) if it's going to regain its bearings and succeed as mainstream entertainment.
