The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Many books cross genres. Some are humor. Some are sci-fi. Some are humor w sci-fi settings. Some are humorous sci-fi. For me, this series is more humor than sci-fi.

Sure, but, again, that doesn't make it NOT sci-fi.

I don't think of it as sci-fi because its just too silly. Its humor w a little sci-fi for flavor.

A little sci-fi flavor? Yeah, now you've lost me. The aliens, the spaceships, the robots, the time travel... those aren't science fiction?

And why can't science fiction be silly?

Of course it's Science Fiction. And excellent Science Fiction too, IMHO.

Probably the only books where I actually laughed out loud while reading. Brilliant.

^That it is! It's one of my all-time favorite novels.

And, JeffinOakland, just a friendly tip on how to use the board: there's a multi-quote function, so you do not have to triple post---an action which is generally frowned upon.

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't want to be frowned upon.

And the Internet kills one of them every 60 seconds?

Ironically I think the porn book shops are safer than the vanilla book shops even though the internet is for porn.

Something about avoiding electrical burns?

Porn is like water: Everyone can get it for (nearly) free at home but many people would PREFER to leave the house, drive to a business that sells it prepackaged & overpay outrageously for it.
