The TV format to replace HD

freesat = satellite .. satellite has always required a dish.

But you may get it to work if you put the dish in your loft. Whether than works depends on your roofing material.

Also consider portable freesat -- those that run on 12v can you can use in the car. They're actually about the same price as conventional satellite systems, but with them being portable, they're much smaller and quick to plug in and go.

If you can't have a dish permanently mounted on your wall outside, you might be able to use these somehow as and when required? Maybe at a window, or in the garden, or on the roof of your car and beam the tv signal to your house with a IR transceiver. :)

Yeah, there are mini-dishes that sit on window ledges that do work, within certain areas, but the problem with them is that you can't be too far north, or west, and of course you need a window that faces 28.2 degrees east.

£120:eek:.........i will wait till that drops a good bit, no point spending that type of money just so the better half can watch eastenderS/corry in HD....

We have the standard cable box at the moment, £20 a months gets us the phone/TV/ 2 meg BB.......and we use on-demand more than watch the actual tv.

Last time I checked Sky HD was still over £200 for the box, even with subscription, but to be fair that is a recorder too, and I don't know how much the Freesat recorder will be when that comes out.

You'd be disappointed if you did. Eastenders and Corrie aren't in HD.
