The tricorder project

Hi,

i didn't find threads with this title, so i hope this hasn't been posted on Trekbbs before.

Just found out about the page http://www.tricorderproject.org where one can read, that real working tricorders are in development.

Although my technical knowledge isn't very good, i find this very interesting and exciting and wanted to share this with you guys.

Just wonder when we will get the first replicators. There's some stuff going on as well, as the first 3d-food-printers do exist already.

3D "Food Printers" still aren't anywhere close to being a "replicator" given how replicators work and how "food printers" work. The latter requiring some source of food materials the former able to construct food from matter/energy.
