I remember having way too much time on my hands.
Sorry, but I was one of the moderators who had to deal with Brohi, and it got out of hand. It was cute for a while, but they started drowning out other posters. I didn't want to go in the lounge for a while. Jealousy had nothing to do with that- I just wanted to see other posters posting, you know? They didn't have to leave. It was their choice. They could be as lovey dovey as they wanted, but they tended to forget that there were other people around.

Keep in mind I'm not saying everyone was jealous, just some.
I don't know, I guess it's because I don't have anyone, I just like the feeling of being lovey dovey. I'm sure it would get annoying for a lot of people, but for me it's just something different.
Of course I think you'll agree if we're going to get spam (and we will as long as this board exists) I'd rather it be positive rather than negative.

Somebody suggesting a good way to get the masses to watch Star Trek was to have a huge parade convoy going through every city advertising it, with floats, celebrities, etc. I forgot the poster's name, and couldn't tell if he was joking or serious, but damn that was a funny thread.

This TrekBBS member card somebody made for me. You can tell how long ago it was based on the characters who appear on it.
The first Caption This! contest I won. It was a picture of Baltar talking to reporters, and my caption was "I did not have sexual relations with that Cylon."
I remember one poster who would always post "girl trouble" threads. I can't recall the poster's name.

Not quite. The problem as I recall was the same as always pops up in Misc every year or so. In 2006 it was Brohi because every thread they posted in, as you said, became a love-fest, but it was to the point that it always overtook the threads. Everywhere. Some people, like you, found it refreshing, others found it excessive and tiresome. So much so that I ended up making this:
Anyway, I think the problem became that everyone kind of saw it for what it was --- they wanted an audience.
Once they realized that, they left. Its sad, because they could have easily stayed. I miss them too, because they were really nice people. But for some reason it had to be "their way or no way," so they left.
I don't know that I'd call it a "great" love story. Besides, the LoveJs were much better.Me, I thought it was a nice breath of fresh air, and a great love story.
They both still have LJs, however as far as I can tell neither have updated in quite a long time.
