The Top 376 Films Of All Time So Far, Mostly Ten By Ten

Must you confuse me with facts this early in the game? Having been an AVENGERS collector from 1976 to 1993, then later acquiring all the issues on CD-ROM years after selling the entire run for 26K......I strongly believe the film will be a favorite, no matter how not great it may well likely be. It will have to be better than the original 1998 Sean Connery version, of which I only remember teddy bears and nothing else.

OK, so basically you are the MadBaggins of TV & Media.

So far it's a better list than some other lists, but a worse list than some other lists. I'd rate it pretty low down on the best lists list.

How the hell can a movie that hasn't even been released yet make the list?

And how the hell is Blade II above The Avengers, and if 376 is the top of the list, again, why the hell is Blade II there.

I like the film, but no way should it be up there.

Down there. 376 is the bottom of the list. Think of it as the USS Poseidon. Up is down, bottom is top. BLADE II is higher than THE AVENGERS (2012) because it's been seen. THE AVENGERS hasn't. I know it's gonna be good. I hope it's gonna be great. It's bound to be my favorite and no doubt will rise up in rank in due course. Still, only a reckless, irresponsible barbarian would place an unseen film above LOST HORIZON (1973) and BLADE II. The obvious integrity of this well-thought-out list demands that.

Someone needs to check out Citizen Kane again; it's virtuoso filmmaking that is timeless and hugely enjoyable. Not sure whether its placing or the inclusion of a film that isn't out yet is the bigger anomaly.

It's time to raise the stakes slightly. I'm revealing the first ''ten-batch.'' As you can instantly see these ten films are equally noble and serious efforts to champion the cinematic art form too many of today's American filmmakers refuse to explore.

360. The Brady Bunch Movie (1995)
359. Desperate Journey (1942)
358. 1776 (1972)
357. Take the Money and Run (1969)
356. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
355. Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
354. Dragnet (1987)
353. Killer Elite (2011)
352. Earthquake (1974)
351. The Passion of the Christ (2004)

10. Coyote Ugly
09. Transformers : Revenge Of The Fallen
08. Transformers
07. Bad Boys II
06. The Island
05. Armageddon
04. The Rock
03. Pearl Harbor
02. Bad Boys
01. Transformers : Dark Of The Moon

What the hell is wrong with you? You left off Manos: The Hands of Fate and Surf Nazis Must Die.

Don't be silly. "Manos" was derivative of the old radio serials, which, as we know, are inferior to their soap driven counterparts some years later.

Also, which version of That Darn Cat are you referring to? The 1965 version with Hayley Mills, or the 1997 version with Christina Ricci?

These things matter, you know! Ranking movies on the internet is Serious Business.™

The superior Ricci version, of course.

Have you completely lost your mind?
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo should be no higher than 11 on your list and you have it at 12?!?!?
The only exception would be if you put it a 783, but then you have to bump Bird on a Wire.

Bird on a Wire was so passe. It obviously mirrors One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in everything but plot, acting, tone, cast, genre, demographic, and pacing.

Welcome to the Trek BBS!

Starbreaker, this IS a blog.:borg:

And as I hoped, others are submitting some of their own contenders.

J. Allen.......I'll just say two of your candidates and mine overlap for now. More to come.....

Thank you. I have watched some of the trailers for some of them, and have a pretty good feel of what they're like overall.

My tendency is to start with a curveball in order for all to expect the unexpected.

This too is nonsense.

No one really brings expectations to this thread. Why would they care?

When you bring nothing, you may or may not get anything. We'll only know for certain after we reach Number One whether the journey was worth it. Perhaps we'll all learn something about ourselves in the process.....you know, like in SURVIVAL QUEST (1989), a movie I actually forgot to include in this 376. For now, I'm content with doing the bringing.

JetFire's list has ten percent overlap with mine.

Moving right along........

350. Predator 2 (1990)
349. The Great Train Robbery (1903)
348. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
347. The Game (1997)
346. The Killers (1964)
345. Intolerance (1916)
344. The Bad Seed (1956)
343. Rollercoaster (1977)
342. Sleeper (1973)
341. Moonraker (1979)

Yesterday I finally saw the long-awaited WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN. Had the studio not waited two entire months to release it, that 2011 film might've made this list as well.

One can only hope that the studio recognizes their error and consults you on future release dates.

I question why there is ONLY 376 films on the list? Why not 489? Or 501?

Maybe the OP has only seen 376 films. That must be it.
