The title of this year's Christmas Special is....

The Wikipedia entry goes into greater detail on this title. Very spoilerish... if true.

an alternate Doctor played by David Morissey with the Tenth Doctor acting as his companion.

That element's not true, AFAIK. Morrissey is

Either a fake Doctor as in The One Doctor, or just a Victorian doctor who has adventures, depending on who you believe. His companion, who becomes Ten's companion for the episode, is the black girl seen on location

And TenDoc is just The Doctor as usual.

Yes, I saw that, StCoop.

I don't think we'll see a regeneration. Actually, I'm not even sure we'll see 10 regenerate into 11 at all, after having established that he'll be much older before he meets his wife. Still, if they introduce Morrissey as the 11th Doctor, it means that he'll probably be in Season 5 already because you can't keep an actor on hold for too long.

The piece suggests that he's an alternate Doctor, not the 11th Doctor. We don't know yet, but if he's an alternate Doctor, he probably will never be a "real" Doctor, 11th or otherwise.

Mr Awe

If Morrissey is THE Doctor in any meaningful way, shape or form I'll eat my Tennant toy.

The Other Doctor would have been a better title.

And then there was this bit of dialogue
Another bit of info I found on another message board. David Morrissey was heard doing dialogue with the new -- and likely temporary -- companion for this year's Christmas special. "The Doctor's companion will do what the Doctor says! Now go!"

and this picture

there could be lots of fun with a victorian doctor that thinks he's the doctor

Just as long as that really really cute girl in the adorable sailor suit from the Xtras Christmas Special turns up one day.

I was going to say that there's nobody out there stupid enough to belive the title will turn out to be any more literal than 'The Doctor's Daughter' did but then I realised that there probably people that stupid out there!

ALWAYS count on the stupidity of the masses!

Okay, that would be interesting, certainly. I'm liking that idea the more and more I think about it.
It would be more interesting if it hadn't already been done, in addition to Allyn's citation, in the Tenth Doctor novel The Doctor Trap just this month.

i hope they bring back that girl. it's stupid that they made her and just let her go. i hope she plays a vital role in series 5. maybe the rani will finally show up? wants to experiment on one of her race to maybe restart the race? hunts down the daughter and gets donna since she has a copy of the doctor's mind in her. doesn't necessarily mean donna would be the companion as she will most likely be locked up by the rani in her tardis. it would at least bring her back, maybe get the doc's mind off her so she can remember again.

maybe the rani will finally show up?

You know, I made a genuine effort to watch Time and the Rani. Really, I did. Eventually, I just had to turn it off because that character irked me so much.

So in addition to my longstanding objection to the idea of bringing back a Time Lord on general principle, I'm quite serious when I say PLEASE PLEASE NO DON'T BRING BACK THE RANI PLEASE I'LL BE GOOD REALLY I WILL

This is one thing you and I can always agree on in regards to classic Doctor Who, Sci. I hate The Rani and both of her stories (although The Mark of the Rani is at least somewhat interesting and not nearly as annoying as Time and the Rani). I do not, I repeat, do not wish to ever wish to see her again. The one good thing to come out of the Time War. :p

:)

Hell, if it's a choice between the resurrection of the entire Time Lord race sans the Rani, and just the resurrection of the Rani? I'll take the Time Lords. She irritated me that much!

The funny thing is that I know I saw the Rani episodes when they aired, yet I have no recollection of them. I think I've blanked them from my mind....

:D

Yeah I have no recollection of her at all, aside from the Eastenders children in need story which I watched on youtube a while ago...I wasn't impressed!
