The title of the new series

I like the position they took with Enterprise, initially calling it that because it says Star Trek without having it in the title. From Kirk and Picard's opening narration, some key phrases that stand out for me:

To Boldly Go...
Where No One Has Gone Before...
The Final Frontier...
These Are The Voyages...

Despite some of those being used as episode titles and a movie subtitle in the past, they are still famously associated with the brand. I wouldn't mind a new Trek series having those in or be their titles.

Honestly between Into Darkness and Beyond I don't think 'colon-less' titling has really worked for Star Trek (besides the first Abrams film), but if they're not going with just 'Star Trek' - which strikes me as many others as the most likely title - and given Alex Kurtzmann's involvement with the movies, I think it would likely that we'd get another title without a colon.

Maybe they call it something like ... To Boldly Star Trek (terrible, but not implausible) or ... uh... Another Star Trek.

Really it's less that colon-less titles is a bad idea (Enterprise was fine) and more trying to fit 'Star Trek' into a sentence that is also short enough to be a title is just going to look awkward. Either go with just 'Star Trek,' slap a colon in there or drop the 'Star Trek,' IMHO.

Anyway, titles are hard. No wonder they don't got one yet.

The Final Frontier is the only one that sounds like it could work as a series title (probably why it's also the only one to have been used for a movie.)

How about...

Star Trek : New Worlds

( no one possibly would remember that game would they )

Just gimmie a story. A well written story and you can title it "Fred" for all I care.

Trek usually has a bit of sex going on, and the heroes are shown to be squeeky clean, plus the next movie might be a part of the new series.

Star Trek: "Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Somehow I get the feeling it'll be Star Trek again, and re-using names does bug me. It can be confusing in conversation.
Me:"I'm watching Star Trek"
Friend"I love that movie!"
Me"I mean the show"
Friend" Shatner was always getting all the hot space chicks"
Me"I mean the NEW show":scream:

I always liked the sound of Star Trek: Phase II. It's never actually been a show. I say make it a show.

Star Trek: A New Hope

I wrote that in jest, but now I'm actually starting to like it a little.

I do. But I still think it would be a good title for the series - if they're actually doing deep space exploration. If it's another DS9 type show, or something that takes place entirely at Starfleet Academy on Earth, then probably not so much. ;)

MACO

Fits with that CBS Executive who expressed interest in a show about a Star Trek Universe version of Seal Team Six. Set during the Earth-Romulan War to allow occasional appearances from the Enterprise NX-01. Jeffrey Combs back playing Shran as a full-time cast member. Admiral Archer guest-starring during Scott Bakula's between season hiatus from NCIS New Orleans.

You could call it

Star Trek: franchise killer.
