Several characters in TREK's history (Garak--Dax--Intendant) and others, have appeared to be more open about their sexuality. Sure, Garak doesn't come right out and say it, but its there..we all see it. Jadzia may or may not be bisexual, but the slug inside her has to be, I guess, what, asexual, thus Jadzia does what she does with that in mind. Though, I guess, to become a host you have to be aware that these situations might happen...but these are some of the more obvious examples...

Were there other characters in the TREKVERSE (movies-TVS only) that you think put off that vibe. And this isn't an attack on that lifestyle at all. But most of these shows were done with censorship looking over the shoulders.

So where there characters, or moments, that you think slipped by the censors? I think of KIRK/JANET LESTER. Some of those scenes between Kirk (Janet Lester) and her friend, cant remember his name, are quite interesting when looking back at them, especially coming out of the late 60s. Odo/Laas is another.

Have there been characters on STAR TREK that were written in subtle ways, or even overt ones, that could have been considered bisexual or gay? Odo? Garak are just a couple characters that have been bantered about here before, just as an example.

Yeah, my wife gets that vibe from Bashir. Women can 'sense' these things better than guys I think. She thinks Picard, Bashier, Garak, Dukat, 7/9, T'pol, Reed, Worf's son (as portrayed on DS9), Wesley, Jake, Q (even in Delancy form) Beverly Crusher, Troi are all bi..and some of them are closeted gays.

I asked her the question I had to ask...what about Morn?? She'll get back to me on that one. But definately the Horta.

Picard is definately not bisexual; if anything, he's a very aloof classical straight guy. Bashir is simply a charming man; doesn't make him bisexual either. Garak likes to rape Bajoran women, but that's about it. 7/9 is asexual due to fear of the concept; when she does let it out bit by bit you see clearly she is straight as can be. T'pol is straight, Reed is straight, Alexander is straight, Wesley sure is straight, Jake is straight, Q is... who knows what Q is, Beverly is straight and Troi is straight.

If they're bisexual, I'm bisexual. You're bisexual. Every male who's not a brutish Neanderthal is bisexual.

Quite a few of my friends are homosexual (both guys and girls) and they certainly don't seem to experience the kind of things you describe, except on a small individual basis. But those individuals tend to be against anything liberal, sexual or progressive.
