The Tate & Tennant Show

WillsBabe

Vice Admiral
Admiral
This coming Saturday, 11th April, Catherine and David will be sitting in for Jonathan Ross on Radio 2 from 10 am. I'm planning on listening while I do some decorating.

Is there anyway someone can put up a link to this after-the-fact so that those of us in the States can listen to it?

Xerox & Hoover are both brand names, like the iPlayer I suppose, however we tend just to say "photocopy" in the UK, instead of Xerox. We will say Hoover ever if we are using a Dyson.

^ Yeah, I never hear the phrase "to Xerox" over here. People do useHoover as a verb, though, I agree.

since ages. hence the old Blue Peter thing about "sticky-back plastic" IE sellotape. these days though, it's become generic, like Xerox or Hoover.

Sticky back plastic and Sellotape are two different things. Sticky back plastic comes in sheets on rolls and is used for covering things, like backing books. When they don't want to use a brand name for Sellotape or Scotch Tape, they say "sticky tape".

^ I've just discovered that it's the generic term for Fablon. I love this bbs. It's so educational!
