That is amazingly cool, and yet so absolutely absurd. I love it!

Okay so I know that the New Tardis Manual handbook thing is coming out soon.. so my work here may be for naught.
However, on the off chance that book doesn't do anything but point out what we have already seen, and such, then I shall continue in my endeavor..
I WAS going to do the newer Tardis consoles, and the engines, and floor plans and such, like Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise.. but like I said, with BBC releasing a Tardis guide by Steve Tribe.. I may just shut down what I am trying to do..
so if this is to be my last post on this subject..
I might as well go out with a bang!

OMG!!! These are fantastic as were the other Tardis exterior designs in the other threads and I was going to ask you in my book thread if you had planned on doing interior designs of the Tardis as book or not I would be interested in seeing them!
Just go for it and do your thing! What does some merchandise matter in that regard? Personally, i find it rather nice to see more than one take on mapping and explaining sci-fi techK; if things collide, i take, what i like from any source and ignore the rest (or find some explanation, why both things are true).
actually what I was planning on doing, was to do a book like if you were a new fresh academy student studying the basics of what the Tardis is, like the star trek star fleet manual..I may continue, I am not sure.. but I would love to keep mapping the ship, and doing floor plans and such..so you could easily print it out and place it in a binder..I would recommend legal size paper and 3 ring binder..
yeah, you may be right.. I just don't know.. I mean, sometimes I get excited,and then sometimes, I think well, maybe my work is better off being done the way I am doing it, because it is untainted by the Steve tribe book..
we will see..I am currently doing a great deal of work on doctor who art.. but the Tardis mapping stuff, even though it looks like work, is fun for me..I may do some more updates..

Here is a sort of vision I had as to what the War Spires of the Time Lords, AKA War Tardises, would look like in formation above Gallifrey, ready to tackle the Daleks in their ships..

It occurred to me, that if the Time Lords were to succeed, they would need a 3 door approach to their tardises, 2 doors on each side would release a contingent of Raston Warrior Robots-Mark V, and the main entrance would be for the Chancellery Troopers.. for invasion on Dalek ships, or planetary conflicts..I also figured that since we knew that Daleks were experts at fighting Tardises in the Time War, that the New Tardis would come with a spacial anchor, which melds the Tardis with an object in this reality, whereby the Daleks can not take the ship in tow, like they did the Tardis from the stolen earth to the crucible...at the end of season 4
Here is something to look forward to as I design all the time lord tardises and their bow ships, and even mapping of the citadel!
The Proto-Tardis:
the Proto-Tardis, was a half formed ship, very similar to the modern day Tardis, in it's basic design, yet the bulk and size of the ship was much less then you would expect.. it's crew capacity could only support at best 100 Time Lords, and that included engineers, and science lords.
Rassilon's Tardis:
As the ancient Black scrolls foretold, the powers and devices Rassilon created for subjugation and to conquer other races, were abominable..never the less, the Tardis specifically built for Rassilon in the ancient days was a Type 7, and was the only Type 7 Tardis created..it's sheer size and mass was unbelievable. Though not as advanced as some may have dreamed, the Type 7 was pretty advanced for it's day. The interior was majestic, and had ornate columns, and sculpted time lord statues, as well as giant Time lord statues holding up various parts of the ship, and included ornate laurel leaf symbols, and ancient High Gallifreyan text, in certain places..It was the control room that was the most intriguing of the type 7. The room was a large domed Panopticon, with a ceiling that was at least 17 feet high, and was supported by pillars all around. the center of the room housed a large console, which fanned outward in 3 directions..
above the console in a throne like setting was where Rassilon sat, commanding his ship and personal army about the cosmos. Rassilon's Tardis had the ability to open a large gateway to a weapons store within the Tardis, accessible through the massive exterior. The Default outer shell of Rassilon's Tardis was no less then a Massive Ornate and sculpted Monolith. Don't you dare leave us with just this description. You HAVE to draw this beast now.
And you know, Rassilon probably upgraded his Tardis for the time war or had a modern version built for him with even more formidable features - probably including several D-MAT guns as its primary weapons battery.
LOL.. yeah.. Let me put it to you this way, between what I got in the works, and what I have up and coming, you guys will see tons of Tardis designs.. inside and out! details and more details.. floor plans, engineering schematics, etc.. etc..
The proto-Tardis is a personal fav of mine, and the Tardis of Rassilon, the only type 7 in existence is a tough design, but it is sooo awesome! the Type -7 is a Tardis from the original early days of Gallifrey Time Lord society..

here are a couple of things to note in my take on the Early form Tardises..
I think that up till about the type-25 tardises used by the time lords, they were not grown.. think about it like this.. they developed and refined their technology over a period, of 1 billion years.. Time Lord history, and I am not including the prehistory.. cause I believe that rassilon considers the history of the Time Lords as being after they ascended to that title and stopped just being Gallifreyans..
anyways.. to me, it would seem that Tardis ships were initially constructed not grown.. and that as they developed they eventually started moving towards a more pseudo organically grown ships..probably with a coral like substance that resembles carbon nano tubes, and fibers..this is probably a discovery that allowed them to save on resources and construct ships stronger then the ones developed with metal construction..it would make sense given the dimensional and gravitational forces felt within the artificial dimension in which a Tardis rests...
anyways, Rassilon's Tardis is massive! it did not house Time War weaponry, at that time they only thought of a Tardis as a travel ship and used those ships to transport troops, tanks, and war materials.. it wasn't until the last great time war that the time lords decided to add weaponry to their ships..
Nope, a more conventional and elegant type of warfare was had by the ancient time lords of Lord President Rassilon's era..the Type 7 will not have the diamond and hexagonal pattern as the type 70 and type 40 possess..the ship had more of a domed room pattern built form metal..not grown..
if you notice the Type 70, Tardis of the Rani's class was slightly larger then the Type 40. this is because with the exception of the Type 7, most tardis development was in that scale.. it wasn't until more improved propulsion and time sceptre technology, coupled with the tessellated membranes led to a larger and more sturdy class of time ship..
the Type 91 Tardises were about the same size as the Type 70, but had smaller living quarters, and much of the extra domed rooms, were replaced by massive weaponry..
the type 100s were much smaller then most Tardises and were the final ones developed.. these sentient ships were made for war, and were controlled by a Bull tardis, which is the only ship larger then the Type 70 (the Rani's Ship), but smaller then the type 7 (Rassilon's ship).
the Type 7 tardis was referred to as the FORTRESS OF RASSILON!
The default format had massive doors, which would open and unleash an invading army of Time Lord Soldiers, and raston warrior robots, hover tanks, ground wepaonry batteries, and siege weapons, as well as time lord battle bases, which could be materialized directly from Rassilon's Fortress Tardis cargo holds.
a detailed design will follow soon enough, for now this is all I can give you guys a sneak peek of..

But surely Rassilon would've had a new Tardis built for him for the time war based on his old design but with state of the art time lord technology... and why not with offensive weaponry? It would be his 'flagship' after all.
Also considering Rassilon's ego, I think it would be fitting for him to enable his Flag-Tardis to materialise in its true expanded form for intimidation purposes. (you may disagree)
Oh yes indeed, Rassilon does have a new Tardis commissioned, though I doubt he ever uses it but to observe the battlefield of the time war early on..I can't see rassilon himself fighting with a tardis, unless he knew he could win without harm to himself. Rassilon's Personal War Tardis had a super shielding, and long range weaponry, with increased sensory and temporal reality monitoring equipment, think of a satellite or radar and sensor jet from macross..
Rassilon's ship could monitor the time vortex, and would give the lord president updates on how time and reality were modified as the war progressed, as well as give him detailed sectors of time and space, and the troops fighting in those areas..he could coordinate from his ship, and direct battles..
I can see where near the end of the war, him not using his tardis, as it may have been destroyed, or the need for the type 91 + became obsolete after the introduction of the type 102s...sentient ships.
the Tardis above is form the old school days in the prehistory of the Time Lord lore.. and are from the era where Gallifrey begins it's space explorations, and rassilon's eventual perversion of that into subjugation..it is suggested in the series that Gallifrey is the crown jewel of the 7 systems, which I take as there are 7 solar systems close by that are colony worlds which house decedents of Gallifrey..
anyways, the ship above (I revised the image) is from the early days.. I will do a Proto-Tardis, a type 5, the Type 7 (Monolith of Rassilon), and a Type 10 Tardis.. then I will do a type 20, and then it goes 40 (which you have seen already), 70, 85, 91 (War Tardis), Type 95 (Rassilon's command Tardis), 100 (compassion), 102 (sentient war tardis/Bull Tardises). then I will do the other ships and devices, including the moment (which allowed the doctor to move within the time lock) and the weapon that destroyed Gallifrey and all the rest of everything in the time war..
but as for the War Tardises mapping the exterior ship size onto the outer dimensions, this makes the time lord ships even more interesting as they could scare Dalek fleets into seeing larger then normal sights, and bluff them into believing they had a new weapon, or some other class of warship device..
the mapping of the inner dimensions, is a pretty cool feature, as it led the Time Lords to make the exterior dimension form look more menacing in design, with spikes, and the grown tessellated membranes had a more ominous pattern mimicking thorny vines as support structures.. (you guys will love the type 91 war tardises.. they are fantastic!)
but back to the Type 7, I think that as a flagship goes for Rassilon, his war Tardis is smaller then the Original Type 7, it is much more advanced and powerful.. the need to carry a massive army and weaponry and vehicles is not necessary during the fight with the Daleks in the time war..so when I do update this thread with Rassilon's Type 95 command Tardis from the time war, you will see the difference..
my goal is to chronicle most of the varying designs.. I may skip some here and there, but that is because there is soooo much to do, what you guys have seen thus far is barely a scratch in what I want to do.. and will be uploading..
I don't know about that... Rassilon being biologically immortal and creator of the Eye of Harmony, with his extreme megalomania on top of all that leads me to think he believed himself a living omnipotent god.
I see evidence from 'The End of Time' pointing to this also. Remember he said: "I will not die!". In the context of the time lady's treacherous suggestion, what Rassilon meant was that he would not choose death. He also lead the return of the Time Lords to earth to confront the Doctor and the Master, both of whom were possibly considered the most dangerous beings alive next to himself and Omega. In my mind, this was hardly a man who thought anything had the power to threaten him. After all, It was his overconfidence that led to his destruction.
And how better to demonstrate one's overconfidence than by materialising onto the battlefield in a monster of a war Tardis, dwarfing entire fleets and erasing whole Dalek planets with D-Mat guns?
a valid point, he may have felt that about himself, however from what President Barusa stated in the Five Doctors was that Rassilon had achieved perpetual Regeneration, whereby he could continually regenerate himself. I think that he knows he can fix his body, but if his entire body were to be incinerated, I would think he would be wiped out of existence..regenerations or not..
otherwise the doctor would have said they all burned, except rassilon who just kept regenerating, and is still locked in the time war. LOL
See I have to disagree with you here.. and not that you don't make a valid argument that Rassilon may have been front and center in the Time War.. I just think that as the Time Lords brought him back from his slumber in the death zone tower on Gallifrey, they needed his brilliant mind to help assist them in the war. So Rassilon set about modifying the Tardises to fight, after being briefed on what advanced weaponry the Daleks possessed.. I believe that Rassilon, was too valuable to the War, and may have been on the battlefield at times, and maybe even took out some Daleks, but I think that he was more valuable as a director of the war, as we saw in the end of time episodes..
It was only the final act of desperation that led Rassilon to confront the Master and The Doctor, which prompted Rassilon to lead the charge. He was afterall the chief emissary of his people, who better with authority to command the master and the doctor then their lord president...
But before this incident, I can only believe that Rassilon spent much of the time war inventing new ways to destroy,and monitored the progress of the battles and the changes to time lines , even though their battles had no effect on Gallifrey's temporal time line..Rassilon would have been in constant briefing with his war council, the war king, and Time War Generals, also visiting the Time Lord scientists and engineers in charge of weapon development..
well I doubt he would have a De-Mat gun on his ship, since it was linked to the Great key of Rassilon..
Now I left out the statement that the modified De-Mat weapon was implied to be the "moment" in the end of time..I seriously doubt that.. considering that the De-mat doesn't burn enemies in fire, rather just wipes them out of existence..similar to the crack in the universe seen in the current doctor who series..
My personal belief is that the Doctor used the moment to shield himself from the Time Lock, and wired it into the tardis.. which gave him the ability to escape the final destruction of everything in the war..I think the doomsday weapon he used was a modified hand of Omega, which turned a giant star in the middle of the battle into a massive Gamma Ray weapon (increasing it's intensity) which wiped out everything in its rotation path.. and burned everything to dust.. including the temporal weapons, Tardises, Daleks and planets..laying waste to it all..eventually the modified Gamma ray weapon would form a black whole and suck in everything inside the time lock and remove all the evidence of their existence..hence Gallifrey being gone, not just burnt to death..

I think that all in all, by time of the mass produced type 103 Tardises, Rassilon was more interested in concocting some powerful weapons and directing attacks from his bunker on Gallifrey, and researching how to commit the final sanction and make everyone ascend.. in the event of the time lords losing their war..
I will design his war Tardis, but I think that the War King of Gallifrey does deserve his own ship as well..
I think that after the events of the end of time, the Master ended up with an alternate reality split of himself, which joined Rassilon earlier on in the Time war, an this variation inside the time lock became the war king, but was derived from the battle on earth, when he was sucked into the time war while trying to kill Rassilon..when the connection severed, it split the Master since he was not entirely within the path.. and sent a part of him into the time vortex, and the other part, was sent somewhere in space and time outside of the time war time lock (to be seen again)..
a part of me believes that with this crack that changes time and space, and "re-writes history" thing in the new doctor who series, that the master, and the time lords may be making a return, and the time war, may never have happened..that remains to be seen.. but I think that that story line is a possibility..but till then I am basing my designs and such on what we already know..

yeah that scares me more then a giant asteroid.. or earth quakes, and even an ice age...
you can't do anything if a gamma burst strikes you, except in the split second.. just burn
..

that makes much more sense for Krypton Lore, considering how destructive a gamma ray burst could be, in the case of the time war, it just fit as the ultimate weapon which could wipe out and burn everything all in a few seconds of it's explosion,and then in return form a black hole and suck everything burnt into a singularity..plus to help things ever better, we already know they can engineer a star, so the misuse of the hand of Omega is a fitting end, considering the name for whom the device was given for..Omega, the end.. LOL...

the New Paradigm Daleks somehow end up in the middle of the Dalek/Movellan War.. they give an edge to the Daleks, thus Davros and the Daleks win, and the Hand of Omega Never gets used in Remembrance of the Daleks, and so Skaro is still there..the Hand of Omega is still on Earth..the Daleks are still one race and not fractured into separate factions due to the Movellan virus
Later, the Time War happens, and everything gets time locked..
the 8th Doctor uses the Moment to escape the time war, and returns to earth 1963.. he reprograms the Hand of Omega to fly into the middle of the time war having added the moment to the hand of Omega to allow it to do so, and the hand engineers a massive solar gamma burst (before the time war happens cause it will take along time for the radiation to travel space to wipe out everything in it's path), which at the speed of light, burns everything in a billion light year radius, killing everything! that star then implodes in on itself and sucks in all the charred remains, and Burnt solar systems..
