The Suzie Plakson Appreciation Thread

Willieck

Suzie has only appeared in Star Trek on five occasions to my knowledge. As Selar in "The Schizoid Man" - TNG, as the female Q in the "Q and the Gray" - Voyager, as Tarah in "Ceasefire" - ENT and most famously as K'Ehleyr in The "Emissary" and "Reunion" - TNG.

She is a beautiful tall lady (about 6' 2") now aged 52.

She has a brilliant singing voice as well. I ordered her CD from her website and received a signed copy and also a personal message.

Are there any more Suzie fans out there?

I loved her as K'Ehleyr. The other characters were OK, Q was funny but she was in a very bad episode, but K'Ehleyr was one of my favorite Trek characters and it's a pity that they killed her off after 2 episodes. Yeah, they wanted to give Worf a revenge moment with Duras, and it was a great arc for him, but still...

I downloaded a sample track from her Web Site, which was a freebie at the time - something like "I Didn't Want To Do That", which I'm sure is the wrong title. She has a good voice, and the track was well produced and arranged, but I deleted after one listen as the quasi-country style just isn't my cup of tea.

Suzie is coooool. I always thought she would have made a decent replacement for Caitlin Brown as Na'Toth in B5 actually but few actresses liked that horrible heavy make-up. JMS felt Mary Kay Adams didn't have enough screen presence and you certainly can't say that about Suzie.

She looks like she wants to eat my eyes, but I vaguely remember her from TNG.

:guffaw::lol::rommie::rofl:

I love love LOVE Suzie!! I love her in every single TREK role that she has done! She always has great command of the character, plays strong women and has always been one of my favorites!! YAY SUZIE!

I met her at a convention once, and she was very, very nice.

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm name-dropping. George Takai and Patrick Stewart always tell me I do this too much.

;)

I know her mostly from Star Trek and have liked all of her characters. Twenty years later, I STILL hate that Alexander's mom was killed off.

Suzie is fabulous! She would have been great as Na'Toth in B5! I thought she was fab in all her ST appearances however brief.

Probably not the best track to start with although I find it quite funny. However you are probably right about the style if it's not your scene. The songs on the CD are quite different from each other and its the timbre of the voice that I like. It sends shivers.

By strange coincidence (considering your sig), I saw Gary Lockwood at a convention yesterday.

He was pretty cool, too.

Damn! I did it again.

Actually, I was there when he said that to a fanboy who was asking some pretty ridiculous question at the time. My friend and I who were there nearly peed ourselves from laughing so hard.

I spoke with her at a Creation a few years ago and she's an absolute doll. She seemed to appreciate me wanting to talk about her sitcom Love and War rather than Trek. I should have asked for an autographed photo of Monica DeVertabrae from Dinosaurs!

It was lovely to meet me! :adore:

I was also upset when K'Ehleyr was killed so soon. She's such a strong character and certainly the perfect woman for Worf (I never thought Jadzia was a good match for him). She's my favourite recurring Trek guest star.

Loved her! I love Dax, but K'Ehleyr and Worf had more chemistry in their short time together.
