The Stuff of Dreams cover

8of5

Simon and Schuster have released the cover for The Stuff of Dreams. Looks like this:

Star+Trek+The+Next+Generation+The+Stuff+of+Dreams+James+Swallow.jpg

Still no blurb! But from what James Swallow has described already I'm looking forward to this return to the nexus, sounds like it should be a really good Picard story.

Well that's boring!

Enterprise! Nexus! Blue to offset orange! Aaaand done.

I like it; bit of exciting spacey stuff (aka Nexus), and a starship. All I want from a cover!

My niggle is the Enterprise looks a bit computer gamey to me.

This is an ebook. What the heck is up with the fake embossing effect?

On the bright side: they changed half the font in the TNG "logo". I still don't like it, but it's less bad than before.

Maybe it's a preliminary cover and the final one will be rendered in more detail. The initial cover releases are often of preliminary art.
Possible, especially since this is electronic-only. Though with less than a month to go until release, the clock is ticking.... :)

When you consider what kind of artwork they gave us in Slings and Arrows and the Corp of Engineer series this is a real step up for ebooks for Pocket!

For the contrary view, I loved Mike Collins on the eBook line and I think it's a shame that it wasn't more widely seen. There was some great work done on the eBooks.

We've already had Nexus-Kirk retcons in Engines of Destiny and Crucible: Kirk, as well as a few Strange New Worlds stories. So that's already been done. And it can't be the only story the Nexus can lend itself to.

Ah, although they're somewhere in my pile, I've read none of these...

Yeah but Captain Kirk fell down a cliff and died, that traversty needs to be redressed in the mainstream continuity of trek-lit
