The Star Wars problem

We've all seen the movies and we've all heard the ridiculously bad lines in the "romantic" dialogs. Nothing reductive about that. It's out there for everybody to see.

And hear, a double whammy. ;)

The romance between Han and Leia seemed more organic to me, than that between Padme and Anakin. It's almost as if had an infatuation for her, that he held onto between TPM and AOTC.

Then why don't you see the truth?

1) There is no objective truth because there is no true objectivity.
2) There seems to be a strong inter-subjective agreement between many people that the prequel romance story sucks huge donkey balls.
3) You would do well to stop implying that everybody who disagrees with you, just isn't being objective or is missing some amazing deep knowledge of the PT's astonishing greatness.
4) This is starting to become really tedious and bizarre.

That is quite literally the point.

Why does pretty much nobody see it?

I suspect the answer is because it's YOUR truth, not something we can objectively assess.

The fact is people watch characters on a screen and react according to their experiences. For millions Han and Leia triggered exactly the sort of responses they associate with genuine sexual tension. It was believable as evidenced by the fact people believed it.

I've no idea if they did but if ive often wondered if Harrison and Carrie actually had an on set relationship, based on nothing more than the fact the chemistry just seemed TOO real to be faked.

Compare that to Anakin and Padme which has become almost a touchstone for "forced"

Funnily enough both Carrie and Han and Hayden and Natalie had either hooked up (the former) or been in a relationship (the latter) prior to the films.

That Anakin is a creepy stalker who hasn't let go of his infatuation with this girl for a decade, and that's supposed to be romantic? Did I miss something?
It's supposed to be traditional, no. Not at all.
The entire point of the trilogy is Anakin's inability to let go.

In my opinion, it was done very poorly. It didn't come across as sympathetic or engaging, or tragic. It just happened because fate.

It was tragic because he couldn't fight fate, yes.

"What must I do, Master Yoda?"
"Train yourself to let go- of everything you fear to lose".

As I've stated upthread, I think the romance is well done and is much less bog standard than Han and Leia's flirting.

You are the only person I have ever encountered who feels this way, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only person who has seen the movies who feels this way. I know people all have different opinions, but.... wow.
