The Space Girl Movie List

Spencey

Commander
Red Shirt
I'm trying to compose a list of movies which feature girls in space for a website I'm working on. So far I have the following:

Star Trek Movies
Star Wars Movies
Alien Movies
Barbarella
Lifeforce
Galaxina
Battlestar Galactica
Contact
CQ
Zathura
Starship Troopers
Pitch Black

Can anyone think of any more?

Nice! That looks brilliant. Consider it added to my DVD rental list. Thanks. Any more, folks?

Austin Powers (the moon base?)
Babylon 5 movies
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Event Horizon (maybe)
Futurama (Direct to DVDs)
Lilo & Stitch (maybe at the end, probably not)
Lost in Space (1998)
Serenity
Solaris (1972, 2002)
Stargate SG:1 feature films
2010: The Year We Make Contact

Brilliant! Thanks so much, people. My DVD rental list is growing steadily. Keep 'em coming!

I don't have time to do a long list right now, but the ultimate Space Girl is Anne Francis in Forbidden Planet.

I think this Thread is fine for Misc; it's one of those that can go either way.

Galaxy Quest!
Spaceballs
Several MST3K spoofs, most notably Space Mutiny

I want to say Dark City, Avatar, and Heavy Metal but technically those took place in space in the same sense that Earth is in space, so I'm not sure if they count.

It's not actually space, but a futuristic society: Logan's Run.

Buck Rogers
Flash Gordon

(New and classic for both of these)

Spice World: The Movie

oh, wait, I thought you were looking for a Spice Girl Movie List... :o

Oh come on! No one has mentioned "Amazon Women on the Moon"?:)

Besides, don't virtually all "space movies" have girls in them? Maybe you should narrow the definition a little?

In Like Flint (1967). At the end of the movie our hero, Derek Flint, destroys the enemy spaceship and is left in orbit in a spacesuit, he makes his way to a soviet space station inhabited by a group of lonely female cosmonauts. Both Flint movies are seriously cool.
