The snow monsters look like crap!

They looked terrible on the big screen to me. The original approach of the monster looked incredibly fake.

Worst scene of the film, IMO.

Kind of have to agree with you there. Those monsters looked like they were beamed on Delta Vega from a FPS game.

Am I the only one who thinks the CGI monsters from the "Lost" clip preview, looked bad? I like the idea of the scene but we did already see this in "Phantom Menace" with the Big fish eating the smaller fish.. Speaking of which the CGI monsters look like something from the modern "Star Wars" movies and I wasn't all that impressed with most of the creatures or CGI that Lucas used.

Okay---now I saw it.

LOVED IT. Very TREK LIKe! Trek monsters have always been uglier and weirder--so that was good. Not as cute as a Taun-Taun I suppose. It doesn't matter what they look like! They looked fine---they were the right creatures for the scene!
Snow monsters were great! Funny----classic---loved it. Man this is the kind of rough and tumble sandpaper (instead of grit) that'
s been missing from Trek. That scene was wonderful. I have trouble admitting it--but that was way better executed than the Sando-Aqua monster and the big Guba fish scene it is similar to from Phantom Menace. Much funnier and more effectively shot. So take that Star Wars. (even though I like Phantom Menace)
