Oh yeah, I've had in on pre-order since January (when I thought it was still coming out in late February). I was very disappointed that they delayed it by 4 months...just for marketing?! As if The Sims needs extra advertising.
I'm really looking forward to this release, mostly because of the more 'community' aspect that the game will have. One thing I've always thought kind of odd in the Sims 2 was the familial relationships, especially between adult sims and their grown children who have moved out and started families, seem very distant. The grandparents don't seem that involved in the grandchildrens lives. I think a lot of it had to do with how separate each household was (seriously it seemed like they would have higher relationships with friends than thier own extended family if I didn't have them put effort into it), so hopefully that will be fixed a bit with the Sims 3 and this more community focus.
