The Sims 3 will be out this June...

Game Informer magazine got its information wrong. It said the game was coming out on 02/20. Bah.
Magazines usually have to be finished a month or two before they come out. You should never get release date info from a magazine, it's out of date by the time you get it.

Well, in any case, that's fine with me. With the current economic climate, I will have saved up enough dollars to buy the game by then.

Truthfully, I'm in no rush for Sims 3. I still haven't done tons of stuff in Sims 2.

Plus, as I posted in earlier threads, my favorite thing to do in Sims is to build. And typically, the building doesn't get really good until 3 or 4 EPs into a new version.

PKTrekGirl, I still very much enjoy playing Sims 2 myself. I've got all expansion packs and haven't even unlocked or explored all the new features, like the witches and wizards in "Apartment Life."

I'm very much looking forward to Sims 3. The seamless gameplay will prove to be interesting. No more loading individual residential or community lots. Objects can be customized. Even the personalities are a bit different.

I like the witch stuff in Apartment Life. This last EP was one of the best, IMO - second only to Seasons, for me.

I like the witches...and I LOVE building apartment houses. I'm having a blast doing that. Been waiting years to build apartments. And I'm not ready to give that up for TS3 quite yet.

Another one? This series already takes up half of the PC selection at any given retailer. What more can there possibly be to do with it?

Bumping up this thread ...

Anyone else getting this game? I really look forward to the release next week (June 2). When I got Sims 2 years ago, I thought it was light-years better than the classic Sims, which I subsequently uninstalled. This time I'll probably keep Sims 2 and play it occasionally and have both 2 and 3 on my PC.

Oh yeah, I've had in on pre-order since January (when I thought it was still coming out in late February). I was very disappointed that they delayed it by 4 months...just for marketing?! As if The Sims needs extra advertising.

I'm really looking forward to this release, mostly because of the more 'community' aspect that the game will have. One thing I've always thought kind of odd in the Sims 2 was the familial relationships, especially between adult sims and their grown children who have moved out and started families, seem very distant. The grandparents don't seem that involved in the grandchildrens lives. I think a lot of it had to do with how separate each household was (seriously it seemed like they would have higher relationships with friends than thier own extended family if I didn't have them put effort into it), so hopefully that will be fixed a bit with the Sims 3 and this more community focus.

^Ya, i pre-ordered mine back in Jan when i thought it was coming out in Feb.

I've been counting down the days and we are at less then a week to go. My manager was sick this week so im hoping whatever she had i will catch so it will give me an excuse to stay home on Tuesday.

I heard about that last week. It's too bad, but not unexpected. Hell i considered it for a split second myself, but i can wait...barely.

The Sims 3 should be free.

All they will do is release 197 expansion packs for the game... this year...

I'm going to get it. I didn't get any of the expansion packs for Sims2, and I've played it out (my last family was a Star Trek one, and Chapel and Rand were lesbians...totally out of my control too!). So I'll invest in Sims3 and play some more! I like the idea of customizing :techman:
