The Shat hosts Have I Got News For You!

He's had to make an "apology" (of sorts, I think he's still ribbing them) to the people of Illfracombe.

Another Trek related topic goes straight to the top of BBC news

I know from experience the natives in the south west of England have absolutely no sense of humour. They're mostly the sort "outsider" hating bunny boilers who make "Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" seem normal.

Shatner's prostitution joke was so OTT, it was only ever meant to be funny, yet the local natives see fit to whinge as if he was slighting them all.

It was clearly a joke, and I highly doubt the average person thinks what was said in a joke is true.

But it certainly the fuss has raised the towns profile, which could be good for tourisim.

Don't tar us all with the same brush!

Bournemouth's hardly in the south west backwater. You're only just over 2 hours outside of London. Draw a vertical line going through Bristol, and for everyone left of that line it's bunny casserole every night.

you know rabbit actually tastes delicious, right?

If you like that sort of thing. I tried rabbit once. Really didn't like it. As a forest dweller myself, I prefer my bunnies alive and hopping around, twitching their little noses at me while they forage for food.

I used to eat rabbit curry when I was a kid...

Then the butchers stopped selling rabbit. Then the supermarkets closed all the high street butchers down. So now unless it's cow, sheep or pig, no one wants to know about edible mammals.

I tried goat once, but I found it too stringy.

Just got around to watching it... that was one of the funniest episodes of HIGNFY I've ever seen.
I seriously didn't expect Shatner to be this witty.

His response ("apology") to "slightly annoyed from Berwick-on-Tweed" had just the right amount of sarcasm.
