The Runaways (Marvel/Hulu)

I remember Xavin when I first read the Runaways back in 2006-7is? Now that FOX is under the Disney umbrella, it wouldn't be that hard to introduce the Skrulls--I would love to see the Runaways do a version of their first appearance where they turn themselves into cows.

The Skrulls will be introduced into the MCU in the Captain Marvel movie next summer-- which is set in the 90s. Which what I meant when I said that the seeds of Xavin's orgin were already set in the "MCU timeline".;)

As for the legalities, the Skrulls already fell into the same part of the Marvel/Fox Venn Diagram as Quicksilver and could be used by both studios. The only Skrull that was FOX exclusive was the Super-Skrull.

That's interesting about the Skrulls--I didn't know that. A Secret War story for the next phase would be very cool and something that could build slowly over several years.

...and come to it's conclusion in the first Fantastic Four movie?;)

(and pssst. I think you meant "Secret Invasion")

Yes, I meant Secret Invasion...Secret Wars would have absolutely no benefit to the MCU. Unless we learn that half the population has been sent to Battleworld.

I love that they're releasing all the episodes on the same day. I enjoyed season one even though it was a little slow. This season looks promising so far.

I'm not going to subscribe to Hulu and binge Season 1, I'm not going to subscribe to Hulu and binge Season 1, I'm not going to subscribe to Hulu and binge Season 1 (and The Handmaid's Tale).

I'm in the minority, it seems, in thinking that Season 1 was really not very good. And worse, completely missed the point of the comics. I was so disappointed that I almost skipped Cloak and Dagger, and that ended up being excellent.

The only encouraging thing about this Season 2 trailer, which did nothing to inspire any hype in me, is that there is nary a mention of the parents. Might we finally get a Runaways show centered on the kids? I'll watch an episode or two, but if it's back to being The Pride: The Series, then I'm out.

Magic is trumps. The only characters who mattered were the witch mother/daughter. And as usual with magic, if anything can happen, nothing matters. The rest were just taking up time. Too tedious to watch, for me.

Topher, a character that appeared in issues 7 through 10 of the original Runaways book has been cast.

I have to admit, I had completely forgotten about this character until I read his Wiki entry. I do recall him now, but I don't know why he would be considered a "fan favorite" character.

I wonder if he's going to be...

...a vampire?

Probably not. Molly Isn't a mutant, Gert's parents aren't from the future and I don't think they're going the alien route for Carolina, so they'll probably switch up Topher's origins a little bit.

So if it takes them a whole damn season to run away, I'm assuming that by the end of season 2 they'll have made it about half a mile down the road. Then again, with this show literally anything could happen, except anything that happened in the comics obviously, they can't do that (imagine adapting the comic a show was named after for a tv show, something that radical is obviously too complex for the hacks Hulu hired to make this show).

The only semi correct thing that Kirk said in his rant was that they maybe took a little too long to actually run away. But I understand why they did that. If they run away in the first episode and defeat the Pride by the first season finale, then the show's over. Despite a few good bits here and there, the comic floundered after the Pride story finished and never really found a direction. Far better to keep the parents around for multiple seasons as the villains rather than wrap that story up too quickly.

Sorry to go off topic for a moment, but I have quick question about Hulu. How much, if any, of these shows do they have?
Blindspot
Warehouse 13
Legion
Spider-Man (current animated series)
Avengers Assemble
Guardians of the Galaxy
Farscape
Wildfire
Cowboy Bebop
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The Legend of Korra
These are pretty much the show's I'm most anxious to see that aren't streaming free on Amazon Prime or Netflix. If more than one season all or most of these are there it'll pretty decide for me that I'm signing up.
EDIT: Never mind, I signed up. I'll probably start watching Runaways tomorrow.
