Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

Thank you to everyone who explored the Roddenberry Archive Enterprise experience over the past few weeks! Over 10 million minutes of streaming was served all over the world. The portal is being revamped now for a future update, and will be offline for maintenance as we work on the next iteration.

It has been an honor and and a pleasure seeing the positive response to last month’s release. Can’t wait to share more soon.

Jules

If these OTOY shorts aren't leading up to a longer, "narrative" long-form I may cry a little. I already loved them, but the thread that twitterer put together showing how they piece together has made me love them even more. I have a renewed excitement about the possibilities.

Like season 4 Discovery! Great idea
But with less action and fewer butterfly people.

Loved the butterfly people! Symbiotic life. Slightly less strange than an avg Pakled, or golden little person with a Fez.

I loved the butterfly people. How can anyone love TAS with it's big winged aliens, ENT with it's giant ant people and not love the butterfly men?

Anywho, I'm excited to see what the next iteration if the Roddenberry Archive will have. The full TMP Enterprise, perhaps? Maybe they've seen Lora Johnson's 1701-A deck plans (combining what we saw of the TNG sets in VI with the Jeffries Tube from V) and we'll get to walk around the A's engineering section. Perhaps the enourmous brewery innards from 2009/Into Darkness? The rest of the Stage 9 Enterprise-D interiors?

I can't wait to find out!

The full TMP Enterprise, perhaps?

There was one teased 2 years ago, curious if that's ever going to see the light of day.

The rest of the Stage 9 Enterprise-D interiors?
The -D bridges were modelled from scratch, nothing was reused from Stage 9 based off comments on the Messy Desk server.

It sounds like the Enterprise-D is the current focus based on the videos they released when this came out.

It kind of already did, that model was available for purchase on TurboSquid before Neil Smith was hired by RA and his fan project became a work project. Damn my stingy fingers, "I'll buy it soon, it's not going anywhere." Well, I learned my lesson.

The interiors are based on the Strategic Designs blueprints, and only included areas you could see from outside the ship. I'm guessing it's being heavily remodeled for similar reasons to the Stage 9 TNG project (in that collage, you can see some of the compromises made to fit it inside the ship, like the lower ceiling on the Red Deck, and the squished, square-shaped cargo pods, whereas I bet the final project will use CG magic to make it so the interior and exterior models don't necessarily have to fit together).

Yeah, if you're walking around the inside you don't need to see how it fits with the exterior. Then they can do some loadzone magic if you hop outside then into another docking port.

They've already done it in a way, with the impossible ready room window on the Enterprise-D.

Phew I thought the whole thing just vanished.

I just really, really love how much love has gone into everything so far. The most recent shorts say so much in a few images. Really, really well-crafted stuff.

DS9 Promenade would be absolutely amazing. I hope we get the Defiant too, with all its various transporter rooms.

The attention to detail is amazing.

Very cool.

I'd love to see the Kelvin bridge, her engineering section (which would pose a challenge, since it's a disused power station) and shuttlebay too.

Since concept art is a valid thing on the archive, I'd like those weird TNG bridge concepts, with the conference table in front of the horseshoe and the funky diner booth seating either side of the viewscreen.

Discovery's bridge is inevitable (please do the Great Turbolift Caverns as well! Even if it's a hidden easter egg), and perhaps the concept art version with a recessed forward pit and deck above could make an appearance too?

I tried to visit the site again, and it has changed. Did the bridges move to somewhere else, or have they been taken down (hopefully only temporarily)?
