You can walk off the Enterprise bridge and explore the CAGE, TOS, SNW and S1/S7 TNG Enterprises, DS9, Voyager, Cerritos and all the ST I-VI Federation ships and so much more!

Really excited that the normal website is live again, too. I didn't get the chance to explore it properly last year, and I see some more virtual bridges have been added. I just hope the app doesn't vanish before I can get a headset to try it on in a few years (and/or it expands to other platforms, it looks like it'd still be pretty neat on a Mac or iPad). I actually worked on visionOS, in a very, very small capacity, so it's exciting seeing it now that it exists, and occasionally getting to put two and two together and go, "Oh, that's what that was for, I was wondering why I was doing that."

Absolutely fantastic stuff. Love the way it's evolving into a living museum with the little prompts to press F for more information. Pike's hat! And the bizarro bridge of the Bozeman!

Thank you.

Amazing!

Are there any plans for other headsets?

What about multiplayer?

Also, on X, you mention that larger volumes can be explored with larger downloads. How large are the largest downloads?

"The Archive’s latest release of navigable spatial content can also be viewed online as a live 2D stream, with the complete experience to be available for free on both the web and the Vision Pro for a limited time. Later this year, OTOY and Paramount Game Studios will offer users unlimited viewing time and a-la-carte access to all current and future immersive Star Trek 3D experiences released through The Archive."

Hm so it won't be free forever. Well makes sense, gotta pay the team.

It's gonna be interesting seeing what they hold back for the paid version. I'm guessing the TMP Enterprise full walkabout we've seen snippets of will be exclusive and possibly a stroll around San Francisco.

I'm also kinda expecting a subscription-based thing because they'll keep adding new content.

I ain't rich, I'll watch YouTube videos of streamers playing the paid version with their $3,000 Apple VR. I maxed out at £900 for the Valve Index a few years ago:lol:

But still, it's fantastic stuff. I never realised how different "Encounter at Farpoint" engineering was. I remember being fascinated by the Saratoga's consoles, and now I get to view them close-up. And I never knew 3D tic-tac-toe in TOS was an off-the-shelf game! I always assumed it was a made up 3D checkers akin to Trek's 3D chess. But it's tic-tac-toe!

I've always loved the Bozeman with it's weird bridge, mostly due to the novel Ship of the Line. They had a pet/mascot squid creature thing.

On DS9, I love the ads for journeys to worlds from TOS, all stuff I never noticed/couldn't be made out on the show in it's fuzzy VHS quality.

Also we get to see the buttons on the season 1 TNG Captain's chair! I'd always been curious about them since I was a kid, cos we saw Wesley be wowed by them but they were never ever actually shown:lol:.
