News The Rian Johnson trilogy is (not) hapenning

Very few people knew Vader was Anakin.

Both Thrawn and Tarkin figured it out on their own. Thrawn outright said something about it, it's been a while since I read the book, but I believe Vader just gave his usual spiel about killing Anakin. Tarkin never voiced his theory as he's a good imperial officer.

Librarian Jocasta Nu knew (I think from the security recordings? I don't remember), and told two clones who had arrested her, and Vader promptly killed them.

After you have Darth Vader in the suit, you no longer need the legendary, loyal, Jedi Anakin Skywalker. If he hasn't been burnt all crispy, delimbed and needing a mobile iron lung to function, I image Palpatine would have keep Anakin as the public face of the Empire. Never going by Darth Vader in public.

Indeed. He would have been promoted in some way as Lord of the Inquisitors or similar enforcer, rather than being worked in to the military hierarchy by hunting Jedi and supporting Tarkin.

IIRC, Thrawn makes vague statements that come short of outright saying Vader is Anakin, but makes it clear he does know.

I like the Canto Bight stuff in The Last Jedi, if for no other reason than that it gave us the falthiers, which were awesome. As an animal rights supporter/vegan, I love that a big part of that whole sequence was freeing them from their abusers.

And then recaptured the next day no doubt.
And barbequed the day after that. Which kind of sums up the utter aimless, pointlessness of that whole plot thread.

I wonder if there's a fan edit out there when Finn doesn't wake up from the bacta until they're just about to go down to Crait, and would the film feel like it's missing anything important?
That's not a knock on John Boyega or Kelly Marine Tran, but on how wasted they both were in that script.
