News The Return of 90s Television: Murphy Brown is coming back, too. What show will return next?

Of all the 90’s revivals, I’m ok with this one. It feels like Murphy Brown could be relevant in today’s political climate.
Still kind of want to see a Major Dad reboot. Gerald McRaney could play the General role, and a younger guy can be the Major Dad in this case.

I’ll miss Colleen Dewhurst as Murphy’s mother. I don’t remember Liky Tomlin in it.

Still surprised nobody has thought of doing That 90s Show yet. Or maybe they have thought of it but the actors they need said no?

Trying to think of other logical shows to bring back. Home Improvement is a sitcom from the 90s people are still nostalgic for, don't know if Tim Allen would be remotely interested.

Family Matters could have Steve and Laura have nerdy genius kids and capitalize on the Big Bang-verse audience.

Well some of the cast is accused of raping women, so That 90s Show isn't happening yet. However I can easily seeing them try at some point.

Tim Allen is still bitching about Home Improvement 2.0 being canceled, so I doubt that will happen.

However Family Matters.... Fuller House is supposed to have a good size part for Steve in season 4.

Never heard of the 70s Show allegations, that explains that. But I guess they could also do it with a new bunch of teenagers in flannel.

As far as I know, it's only Danny Masterson that's accused of rape. That doesn't severely affect the cast, but it does cast a shadow.

Yes, but he is one of the main characters. Plus I really doubt most of the cast would want to return. But maybe that their careers have flopped they would come back.

All you really need is Donna and Eric and then have their children. But I would wait at least another 5-10 years for that.

We are still working on earlier 90s show revivals first. :P

I thought there was a Magnum P.I. project involving his daughter already floating around.

Edit: This thread from last year seemed to indicate the "daughter" idea was already out.

And this thread from 2016 was the one mentioning the daughter.

And Earle Hindman who placed Earl the neighbor died some years back from cancer (come to think of It, I'm not sure the show had been off the air for that long when he passed away).

Just say he died and his son took over the house, never showing his face either. I mean I think the bigger issue is moving the house back next door. (No one remember the finale?)

Steve appearing in Fuller House? What, does Stephanie run into him and say “Hey, didn’t you help me accept having glasses 30 years ago?” and they started talking? ;)

They might have a point now where 90s nostalgia is high enough they could bring back almost anything.

Hell, Stephanie could run into Dana from Step By Step and say “Hey, didn’t you help me get over my jealousy of my sister at Disneyworld?”

No way, man. Wilson was the heart and soul of that show. There's no point of doing it without Wilson.

They can always just have one of his relatives, perhaps one of his kids or a brother or some such. Since they only ever called him by his last name, they can keep up with the gag. Now, what would be hilarious would be if one of Tim's kids ended up marrying a Wilson. I think he had a daughter, didn't he?
