The quality of DS9 DVD:s again and how angry I am now!

They're almost certainly the same source as Netflix or Paramount+, so I wouldn't bother if you have access to streaming.

I must admit that I prefer having the DVD.s instead of streaming because streaming is so unreliable.

Imagine that I come home a Friday evening with the intent to relax and watch a brilliant DS9 episode, Like "Duet", "The Wire" or some other masterpiece.

When I access the streaming service which I pay a sum for, I'm met with a message which says "This program is no longer available".

With the evening totally ruined, I write a mail and complain and a few days later I get the message that "Sorry but we no longer have the right to stream Star Trek Deep Space Nine. But we have Stargate Universe which you can watch!"

The next day the frontpage news will be about a disappointed Star Trek fan who threw out the TV from the window.

Therefore I prefer to have DVD:s to watch when I can decide when I want to watch the show.

Yes, sometimes the rights change, sometimes the broadband connection is flakey (with discs I can watch DS9 while the offspring play online DnD with their friends and neither of us suffers from performance problems), sometimes the broadband fails entirely for a while for mysterious reasons...

The whole things with "rights" makes me crazy sometimes.

I started to watch "The Orville" and took a certain liking to the series. OK, it's not Star Trek but I find it more watchable than many other doom-and-gloom series.

However, after watching two seasons, the series is no longer available where I live. OK, I can watch season 1 and 2 for free on a streaming service but season 3. No!

Same problem with "Law And Order SVU". After a certain channel where I live has aired it for decades, it was suddenly dropped five years ago, obviously for "rights" reasons. It's still on nightly re-runs up to season 19 on the channel where it has been aired for so many years but no new episodes after that.

I also lost my beloved re-runs of "CSI New York" when Fox dissapeared from Europe this winter. I guess I have to open the wallet once again and buy a box.

Fortunately NCIS is still going. :techman:
