The production team did a amazing job of keeping picardos hair and sideburns exactly the same

throughout the 7 seasons. I never noticed over grown neck hair or longer sideburns, which would have destroyed the illusion of his character of being a hologram. Now I'm wondering, maybe you folks have seen something I missed?

It's probably consistent throughout the series, but later seasons he was dabbling with the human condition. If there were any changes in his appearance it could've been resolved because he was experimenting on his individuality.

His hair does change, as Picardo got mildly balder as the years went on. Luckily (for the show, not for him) he was almost ax maximum baldness levels when the show started, so there wasn't much to maintain.

But it doesn't matter anyway. A hologram with subtly changing hair would be a snap.

So why was "Joe" not using that in Endgame?

I agree... it helped that Mr. Picardo never seemed to age that much.

It was funny to see him with a full head of hair in "Before and After". I wonder if it was the result of rebooting him after the year of hell (their version), or if he just decided to change his look, the way he picked out a name.
