This premiered last night, and I was wondering if anyone else watched it?
I thought it was a lot of fun. The system they use for The Game is similar to the Machine from Person of Interest, but I don't see it being the focus here like it iss there.
The basic premise of The Game and the people behind was interesting, and a nice way to get Alex involved in the cases of the week, while also giving us a bit of a mystery arc to follow as Alex tries to figure out what happened with his wife's murder.
I really liked all of the characters. Alex was a cool, badass hero, and Mr. Johnson and Cassandra are very intriguing.
The bit at the end definitely seemed to me to hint that Mr. Johnson was involved with what happened to Ginny, Alex's wife, and will possibly end up as an enemy of Alex. Then we have Cassandra apparently having some kind of a relationship with Ginny. All of this makes me wonder if they have been manipulating things for years to get Alex to a place where he can become The Player. We also got possible mystery around the fate of the previous Player set up. The way Mr. Johnson reacted when Alex asked about him makes me think there's something there.
I know this doesn't seem like a big sci-fi show on the surface, but I think Cassandra's computer, the system used for The Game, and the hints that his has possibly been going on for centuries pushes it in that direction.
