THE "PIZZA TOPPING" THREAD --- 2011

If the pizza is done right, then just cheese. Since it usually isn't (at least not in Denver) then pepperoni and mushroom.

A nice, thin crust cheese, maybe with a little extra garlic. That's all I need to be happy (well, that and some breath mints afterwards).

Round Table Pepperoni or Roastin' Toastin' Chicken Club. (Chicken, whole garlic, bacon, green and white onions, garlic cream sauce).

Home made I generally go with pepperoni, bacon, garlic and onions in various combinations.

Okay people, this is a serious question. What is your ideal pizza, and what toppings does it have? Please include pictures! Dammit folks I live in rural Japan and I'm building up my hunger for real pizza for when I arrive in New York city mid-December for the start of my winter long break.

My goto toppings: PEPPERONI and BLACK OLIVE:

I love a good thick crust pizza with the pepperoni and black olive combination. You could easily add:
  • Spinach
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Red Peppers
  • Green Peppers
  • Crushed Pepper
  • Sausage
  • Ham
  • Grilled chicken breast
  • Extra cheese
  • Extra sauce
  • Little extra oven time

When I go to New York, however, I'm thinking Lombardi's will be my first stop.........

then later that night after enjoying the city and some Manhattans at my friend's pub just get some giant, think crust mega-pizza for my best bud and I to enjoy some beers, cigars, and classic TNG episodes on his big screen in Queens.

Yeah, I'm ready for my vacation home. Pizza oh god pizza

Don't they have Pizza Hut in Japan?

What happened to this world? When did people start going to from your old standard of mushrooms, pepperoni, onion, etc. to bizzaro world toppings?
Reading the posts which precede yours, I find myself wondering which ones you'd consider to be "bizzaro[sic] world" toppings. I'm not really seeing anything which looks out of place.

Actually a Bizarro World topping would be put on the underside of the pizza. :shifty:

here is one my sister makes

Bubble Pizza!!
Throw all your favorite pizza toppings in a bowl with sauce and Pillsbury country biscuits (quartered). Stir until coated. Throw in a baking dish. Top with mozza. Bake at 350 for 35-40 mins. Voila!

Pepperoni, onions, green peppers, bacon. In order of their importance.

Thin crust or pan style.

Only I had picture of the pizza I made a few months ago. Several slices were different each other, as some were ham & pizza, while others had beef, bacon and ham.
You put pizza on your pizza?

Well, I hear they put coffee in their coffee in Brazil.

Wouldn’t that be a “bottoming”?
If anyone puts an olive anywhere near me, it's entirely possible I might kill them. I don't even like being in the same room as those hideous things.
They say olives are an acquired taste, but I’ve always liked them on pizza, submarine sandwiches, in salads, whatever.

I like pizza with lots of meat toppings: pepperoni, sausage, ham, prosciutto. If it has at least four dead animals on it, it’s a winner. :techman:

Usually sausage and mushroom, depending on where it's from. I'm open to most toppings except pineapple and ham, however.
