I am never more aware of myself as a dreamer of dreams, an instrument of reason and conscience, as predator and prey, as creator of what I am pleased to call reality, and as a creature of flesh and bone than whilst alone under the night sky.

Malice. Lack of empathy. Delight in the suffering of others. Arrogance. The seeking or delight in power over others.
