The Picture Thread

Hello everyone,

I noticed this forum lacked a picture thread. Feel free to post any sports related images here. Pictures of sporting events, pictures of you at sporting events, pictures you took of athletes, you name it. Pretty much anything is fair game, as long as it's sports related!

I'll get things started off. Some photos of a Phillies game I went to a couple weeks back...

Penn State @ Purdue - personally I think our uniforms are fantastic, but some describe them as 'boring.'

My best friend and I at the Cubs home opener this year. It was the single coldest day I have ever experienced. We got there at 11am to make sure we got good seats in the bleachers. The game then got delayed until 2:30pm. The entire time it was in the mid-30s and raining (at one point the rain turned to snow). We were soaked from head to toe, and we spent a good 10 minutes in the car afterwards shivering and trying desperately to get warm. I didn't get feeling back in my hands until the following day.

These pics are actually from last season, but they're the most recent I have:

We had really good seats. Here's the Phanatic:

Gone to about six games this year, but I only took pictures at about three. They are taken on my crappy cell phone, but you get the point. :)

White Sox vs Rangers.

They lost, we left unhappy. :(

Mariners vs. Rangers.

Rangers won in an extra innings walk-off. Lots of fun!

Dodgers vs. Rangers

Best seats I've ever had. Beat the Dodgers 5 - nill.

Nice shots, I'll have to download my stuff from the camera from the last Giants game...

Jarok, nice seat. That solid outfield makes the place look really small.

RoJo, it's snowing, and you have beer, I like the dedication...

Those seats right behind home plate are the best I've ever seen. How'd you manage to score those tickets Admiral Jarok?

stubhub.com People who have tickets to a game, but for whatever reason can't make it, can make their tickets available. Lots of season ticket-holders sell their tickets, and a lot of times they are pretty cheap. I bought those two seats for about 45 dollars a ticket!

Of course, it's going to be cheaper based on demand. The Rangers are half the draw the Yankees are, so you can find awesome deals. That's why I've gone to so many games this year.

My girlfriend and I were on TV pretty much the entire time. I had to make sure that I didn't pick my nose or do anything too lude.

How close to the Rangers 'park do you live?

I wish I could go to a lot of games. But I only have so much vacation time, and New York's far away...

I technically live within driving distance of Kansas City, but I'm not too much of a Royals fan. Although the K does look awesome now that the remodeling's done.

I live about 15 minutes away, so I'm pretty darn close.

Lucky... :(

Makes me wish I'd been this much into baseball when I was in college. I'd have had Cardinals season tickets in seconds. Not too excited about them either, but I would go to any major league game that was close enough (even though I'm mainly a Yankees fan).

HOLLYWOOD PARK
From the parking lot... folks can either go to the RIGHT and into the casino,

...or folks can go to the LEFT and to the race track. (Always my choice) ;)

Thoroughbred Horse Racing is my favorite sport and this past weekend I had the opportunity to meet
my ALL-TIME Sports Hero, LAFFIT PINCAY, JR., on Hollywood Gold Cup Day @ Hollywood Park... :techman:
hol_laffit.jpg

I was always counted among the smallest youngsters in my class,
and I dreamed of someday maybe becoming a jockey... but I eventually grew out of that.

Laffit Pincay, Jr. ... he was indeed my Sports Hero growing up ... and yesterday I was a kid again
as I shook the hand of the greatest jockey 'ever rode a thoroughbred race horse!
