The Photoshop Thread, Part IV

Jeez, what a controversy.

Okay, here's more:
TNG crew as Slayer

Good Lord, that's so...so...wrong on so many levels. *lmao*

An FYI, I met Sean Kenney at a convention a few years ago. Very nice man. Anyway, he had a beard, longer hair, and was, of course, much older. Well, he had a picture of Jeffrey Hunter from a movie he had done (I think it was King of Kings.) Hunter looked then, with the makeup from that film, a LOT like Kenney does today. Their choice of recasting for The Menagerie really was right on the target.
Very interesting bit of trivia--I didn't know Sean made his rounds on the convention circuit. Thanks for sharing that. :)

It's not Rockwell, but that just made me think of how Jean-Luc and Beverly would look in "American Gothic". :D

Well I know there are many things wrong with this, not the least of which being Beverly looking the wrong way, but here ya go:

Nice work!! :bolian:

It would be great to have a full-size print of that in your home. Most people wouldn't notice the difference, but Trekkies would eventually look at the faces and go nuts over it.

And there is the trick... those are still images, but you wouldn't notice those effects in a moving picture any more than you noticed these effects when you saw the movie.

Audiences today like this.

TOS is from a different era... an era where early TVs and bad reception provided the poor image quality. All that is removed when we watch TOS today, and it has most likely hurt it's perception by non-fans.

Fans, on the other hand, are constantly looking for every little detail and so like the ultra clear images. Therefore reremastering episodes in this way would be an attempt to get a wider audience (outside the fans).

I honestly think this would work. And it can be done at very little cost.

Wow. I didn't even notice most of them. I do love the lens flare after Captain Robau enters the bridge on the Kelvin. It felt like space. It felt right. I loved it.

J.

These are great shots from the new movie.:techman:

She kind of looks like Rue McClanahan's character from The Golden Girls with that hairstyle.
