You know, I just happened to watch Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace on DVD. And I couldn't help thinking:

Could Chancellor Palpatine be the Sith Lord they're referring to as Darth Sidious?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just have a hunch ... I mean, here was the Senator from Naboo who rose to power as the leader of the Galactic Senate. The Sith Lord figure that was working with the Trade Federation was a completely hooded and dark figure, but I'm thinking maybe there's a connection??? :wtf:
 
I remember all the talk on the internet about how Lucas was going to throw a curve at us have have Sidious NOT be Palpatine. Palpatine was a clone, which was why the Jedi couldn't sense his power. Some said he was just an underling, or even unwitting dupe for the Dark Lord.
 
The Emperor was not the master, but an apprentice of a more powerful Sith who discarded the Rule of Two, just a patsy for the true apprentice of Darth Plageueis the Wise, Darth Binks.
 
I was hoping Lucas would throw a huge curve ball and ROTS would end with Anakin dead, then Episode IV would be remade as something totally different.

That would be "THE ULTIMATE FUCK-YOUR CHILDHOOD" by decanonizing the original trilogy.

How about Padme names one her babies Anakin...that's right, turns out we've been watching Luke's grandfather all along. This explains why Obi-Wan is so old in A NEW HOPE.

The Clone Wars continues another 20 years, with Anakin Jr. fighting in them...

Yes, this means Boba Fett is like 50 in the original trilogy.
 
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm terribly concerned about Y2K. I'm buying all the bottled water I can, and hiding in my cellar.
 
The Matrix opening a few weeks before Menace? Foolish to schedule any other scifi that close. Won't make a dime.
 
Man, I can't believe the Clinton Adminstration will come to an end next year. Hopeful the next President will keep this prosperity and great country chugging along!

Hey don't forget to check out Voyager's season finale. Can't believe this show has been on for six years already.

Man, Phantom Menace sucked. Hey, at least Star Trek won't pull anything stupid like making a prequel series, right?
