The People Vs. George Lucas

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I heard of this film but has anyone seen it? How is it that I can watch it. It's not available for streaming on netflix, and I couldn't find it on amazon.

Thanks!

I've read that it's good. It doesn't seem to be available on DVD yet though for whatever reason and wasn't given a wide release far as I know.

The descriptions I read for this movie make it sound excruciating. It's George Lucas' franchise, he did things some people didn't like, get the fuck over it already.

Class Action Suit, Baby! I want free movie tickets from the settlement and a time-machine programmed to return me to my childhood before the abuse occurred.

I checked out the trailer to see how stereotypical it'd be.

They actually have a song about childhood rape, assertions Jar Jar will be hated in a hundred years time, and the idea George Lucas must feel bad because his fans have turned on him.

Closest thing to amusing are what look like French critics talking in French, one of whom asserts prequel hate is just disguised prequel love.

All I need to know is whether or not it's entertaining. It has nothing to do with whether or not it discusses anything of substance. If it's quality car-crash video, then I'm all for it.

Hmmm, having seen that trailer it looks less interesting than Trekkies. I guess if it appears multi-part on YouTube I'll give it a look. Post a link, eh?

@Temis...years ago after the atrocity that was Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Strikes Again!" the board actually had a rather long and humorous trial of Frank Miller. The thread probably got lost now due to the Great Crash or just being old. It was one my favorite all time threads here.

Watched it a couple of days ago. Not bad at all, and I especially like the approach they went with, first showing how much and why some of us love Star Wars, making us feel nostalgic to the brink of tearing up... Then slapping us in the face with all the BS Lucas did from 1997. onward.

However, the movie IS biased, there's no denying that. The author basically implies that only kids don't hate the prequels and Clone Wars, and there really is no sign of casual fans' or average moviegoers' POV anywhere. It's basically "Kids VS 40-year old neckbeard virgins", and I gotta say I almost felt sorry for some of these people, especially for that guy who went to see TPM like four times, hoping it will eventually grow on him, because admitting Lucas let him down was just too much to handle...

Oh, and those people who went to the theatre expecting to hear the voice of God almighty himself... How the hell were these people supposed to NOT end up feeling let down?

All in all, I give this thing a solid 7.75/10, for being well made, well paced and for making some pretty good points.
