Seriously, a lot of very good points that some people will choose to ignore. I would get Hulu for The Orville even if I didn't already have it.

Wait, they expect the show to be ready to go by late summer 2020. One of the things I took from that comic con announcement was it was going to be late 2020 that we see the third season. Based on this video, we could get it in August or September? That's pretty cool.
Hulu does have some amazing content. I couldn't watch Buffy or Angel this year without Hulu, so the whole idea that they lack content and it's similar to CBSAA is kind of mute.

Really. To me late 2020 means quarter 4 of 2020, which is October to December. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
Yep and that way I own it instead of wasting my money on a subscription. Actually I am hoping I can get a season Pass on Itunes. But not sure it will be offered.
I forgot to mention that the second issue of Orville appeared. Like the first one, it very much captures the feel of the series, from the dialogue to the aesthetics, and the characters are drawn amazingly well. And it's a decent story, too. A nice little lost episode.
I didn't like the syfy story in the new comics, I would have rather seen more of Kelly and her beau.
Does Hulu drop shows episode-by-episode on a weekly basis a la CBS-AA, or all at once like Netflix?
They released 26 episodes of Find Me In Paris last night.

Definitely agree that the Orville comics capture the feel of the show. And the artwork was often very good, and got the actors' likenesses, even down to one of Adrianne Palicki's mannerisms. I liked getting a look at the history of the Planetary Union and an old enemy as well. I do think the second half of the story petered out a bit, but still, it got the feel and tone of the show right.
Isn't this usually at the discretion of the producer or writer? I know Hulu has released an entire season of a series like Handsmaid Tale, but they have also done the once a week thing as well. I hope the Orville is released once a week. I'm finding I still like the model more than binging the entire weekend. It gives boards like this and reddit more time to talk about each episode together. Then if you want to binge the season later, you can.
A lot of people would like to see the entire season released at once, to binge on as that does seem to be a new habit nowadays - especially for serialized shows. If ratings aren't good we all know the show will be dropped like a Latchcomb but not passed like a hot potato, though the ratings for modern day television were ultimately respectable despite season 2's opener's plummet.
I was always planning to check Hulu out once the show is put out to view. The narrator's too-crisp voice sounds like he's fresh off a B-grade fantasy, helped by appropriate backing muzak.
The real news starts at 2:10 in. By 4 minutes in one can guess adequately that the amount of ads would not be enough to sustain the show, so they'll put it behind the paywall where we still get the same amount of episodes, which may or may not run as long, and will have commercials for lower-tier subscriptions. It's not that much of a change when all is said and done. We already pay for any shows with commercials when we buy the sponsors' products. Television has never been directly or indirectly completely free (nor do we pay for all of it). Then again, Hulu's library section has the low-ad and no-ad tiers. To get at the fresh new content, there's only one tier ("Hulu + Live TV) and it costs a little bit more per month and might be worth it if one show is so good or if there are enough shows to really dig into, time prevailing. As yet we don't know where the new Orville will be on, I'm just guessing it will be in the "Live TV" section. Then again, even some shows in the top-most tier still have ads - like SHIELD, Gray's Anatomy... Nothing esoteric about any of this, their website as of 19 August 2018 lays it out and it's all subject to change. It takes less time to write articles than to make pied piper videos anyway.
