The Mirror Universe was the best thing about Star Trek. I'd like to see Orville's take.
Mirror Universe Bortus KEPT his mustache. And everybody loves it.
So much so that he grew a goatee.
Maybe also a mullet.
If by Mirror Universe we mean alternate universe where everyone is evil treacherous murderers and Bortus has a goatee, than no I have no real interest in seeing that and don't really see what Orville could add to that trope. Now, if they did an alternate reality where The Orville is grim-dark and everyone is miserable and hates each other, that could be fun. A riff on BSG to counterpoint Orville's typical riff on Star Trek.
I think alternate universes are a much more fun science fiction premise than Trek's "MIrror Universe" has turned out to be. The two-part finale this year is one example among many of writers extrapolating what effect a few differences might have on everything going forward - the Mirror Universe is a rather illogical inversion of that, in which no matter how many differences you introduce, way too many things remain the same.
I actually felt the humour was more like Eureka than SG-1.
Worse: Mirror Universe Bortus IS STILL a female.

Oh, come one; sure we can have a Mirror Unvierse episode that doesn't do really anything other than make us laugh and think some. Can't we also have some fun or does every episode have to accomplish something?
I'm not saying it has to be a comedy, but geez.
An attitude like that would have robbed us of the "Angel" episode where angel became a bloody puppet.

I am getting tired of the Mirror Universe on regular Trek, but an Orville take would be hilarious. Just one episode of course, no half or full season arcs needed.
That's all it ever should have been on Trek.
I'm sure Orville could do a fun twist on the Mirror Universe. Like a horrible dystopia where everybody is politically correct and prudish.
