THE ORVILLE S2, E8: "IDENTITY, PART I"

Awesome episode!

Why is Issac's the only one with blue/whiteish eyes???

The Orville is making it harder for me to rewatch any Trek....

Only two gripes

1. How the heck did people leaving the Orville didn't raise any alarms...?

2. What would the Kaylons done if Ed didn't get the permission to take the Orville to the Kaylon homeworld?? The admiralty could have ordered Ed to take Issac's body to the Orville-verse version of the Daystrom Institute where they could dissect Issac...

I had been underwhelmed by the second season so far. But this one was great. Good script from Trek alumni Brannon & Andre.

Is Isaac the only Kalon with blue eyes?

In the Isaac goodbye party poor Dann wanted to say something but didn't get a chance.

Norm Mcdonald was in the credits but I didn't see yaphit. He must have been part of the Isaac goodbye party.

This was a good TV night for me. Loved the Discovery episode too, and also liked TBBT Shatner episode.

This is the first night since both have been on that I can say both Orville and Discovery really entertained me. Well done all.

I was underwhelmed by DSC's entry this week, even though I thought it was going to be amazing. Conversely, I was blown away by Orville's episode, going into it with no expectations at all.

He entered a security code on the airlock's control panel, likely his mother's, and since she was Chief Medical Officer with high clearance, AND had already left the ship once with full authorization, it was likely still in place should they have been summoned back to meet with Kaylon Prime.

Logically, there would have been no reason for the Union to deny them the opportunity to do so, if only to get a glimpse of the Kaylon homeworld.

I've noticed that some guest actors still appear in the credits of TV shows even if they've been edited out. For this show alone, Chad Coleman was credited for an episode he never appeared in.

Last season was entertaining but this season is a whole new level. Really felt like some of the better old Star Trek two-parter cliffhangers. I think I have a new favorite episode.

I wish they had found another way to discover the Kaylon's secret. The cliche of the kid wandering off doing something stupid is pretty annoying. But it was still a great episode. The score was fantastic.

Shit just got real.

Also...so the Orville's viewscreen is a window?

My enthusiasm is tempered somewhat by the likelihood of a big red reset button next week. And I don't see how you plausibly do even a partial reset on this.

They can piece together lines of Norm breathing, but then they would have to pay him.

Besides, don't be racist... Are you sure that Yaphit is the only gelatinous Lifeform on board?

Seriously, they probably all do look alike. Unless there's a lime or orange flavored one of whatever Yaphit is.
