I love a good space battle as much as the next guy, but in all honesty space battles really don't sound like an Orville thing.

Generally they're repetitious and trivial. Worth about a minute or two of screen time - which is about all that the Orville's battles with the Krill have amounted to.

TV will never surpass the movies when it comes to space battles. Plus every single space battle other than The Expanse looks absolutely nothing like what real space combat would be like.

How about a compromise, something that doesn’t have to do with relationship drama.

Whatever kind of story they do should include some relationship drama.

I think we may get a little of that out of Claire and Isaac before this two-parter is done.

I wonder if the Kaylon will try to "fix" Isaac due to his relationship with Claire. Then they can try to break his programming by making him call an apple an orange.

It's refreshing as hell that they're so accepting and supportive of Claire and Isaac's relationship instead of brooding and/or screaming. These are the best genre series kids since Jake and Nog.

Before this, I mostly put this show in the bucket of "it's fun, which is all I really expect it to be, and that's fine."

But that was a whole new level.

Still very good.

A lot more gripping than a space battle.

But looks like there will be a bit of that, too, next week.

If Isaac doesn't save them all, Mark Jackson is out of a job.

If we're going to play that game, Kalons are more like Cylons.

Conversely, even if Isaac doesn't save them all Mark Jackson might find himself with multiple jobs.
