THE ORVILLE S2, E8: "IDENTITY, PART I"

The easiest out for Isaac is that the Kaylons deactivated him because they knew he wasn't going to be onboard for their master plan, and this Isaac is a reboot or an impostor.

You can't just having him playing along until he finds an opening to help his crew and be okay with it after everyone that died.

As an homage to Philip K Dick, everything once Issac was knocked out will be him dreaming........everyone is an electric sheep. Also homage to 1980s Dallas and Bobby Ewing.

Maybe it's more likely that they are running a simulation against Issac to see which side that he is on, than Issac is running a simulation to show his "friends" what they are up against and how f**ked they are.

What about Pria?

Pria came from hundreds of years in the future where she wasn't a Kaylon or a slave of the Kaylon. Maybe because Issac never filed his report, and the Kaylon never attacked, or maybe because the Kaylon were defeated, and Pria never bothered to mention it, because from her perspective it was a non event from deep history...

Although she did incapacitate Issac that episode, until she thought that he was dead.

My thoughts went back to Mass Effect, to the conversation with Vigil. About how long it takes to commit genocide on a galactic scale, hundreds of years for the Reapers.

Humans keep other humans alive, after they have massacred many of their enemy for slave labor. For what purpose would an AI species keep humans and other aliens alive?

After the failed Thanagarian Invasion in Justice League (Animated) Hawkgirl stopped wearing her Thanagarian military uniform.

Issac could build himself a new body, even an organic body.
Yeah. It’s very similar to that, except those Thanargarians had no chance against Superman.

Nth Metal can knock Kal on his ass.

If he's moving at Superspeed, no birdy can lay a bean on him.

Although...

Go to where Krypton was and ram-scoop up few thousand tons of Kryptonite.

Sorted.

Kryptonite? There are ways to avoid that.
They’re just lucky they didn’t threaten his mother.

They should have.

Why else embed Shiara in that enemy mine for years, unless they're going to use the intelligence that she had gathered intelligently.

Poor Bortus---I know what it's like to want the corner piece.

As for Isaac, I really don't see how he can be redeemed in the series at this point. His race are on par with the AI in the Terminator movies, the Cylons, and The Matrix machines. He is culpable.

That said, it would be the show examined the enslavement of the AI and had interesting reasons for the machine uprising.

I'd sure like to see this episode. Anybody else having a hard time finding it on On Demand?
