The origin of your username

I was a hardcore Potterhead, even moderated a HP fansite for six years. I certainly think that the books are worth reading for any fan of fantasy novels. The movies are kind of on and off, though.

Mine is from the movie Ginger Snaps... I just thought of Ginger but instead of Ginger Snaps I thought up Gingerbread and Demon because Demons are cool

When I first noticed the name Gingerbread Demon, I thought it was a Hallowe'en temp from a regular username. Then I thought it was a holiday temp.

And actually, it works pretty well for either.

There's a proverb in German; "it's pointless to argue about taste". For years I didn't get past the first few chapters of Philosopher's Stome because I found Rowling's writing style condescending (I felt like she was permanently standing behind me, poking me and going "you are a child, you like silly names and descriptions!" Yeah no, Ms. Rowling! By the time I got in contact with HP I had already read the Greek Myths. I'll take Kerberos over "Fluffy*, thank you) I still haven't changed my mind on that.
I was the one kid who would have run into the opposite direction when invited to "Hogwarts" because that place sounded like a mis-managed hell. I would have gone to Beauxbatons though, that place sounds like I'd like it.
All I knew about Harry Potter was through pop-ultural osmosis.
If it hadn't been for My Immortal and Enoby I would have never read the books :-p

I actually did an analysis on the staff at Hogwarts... it's true, some of them were pretty unimpressive. Only one of them (McGonagall) got the highest score available, and I think half a dozen of them had failing scores. Dumbledore really needs to rethink his hiring practices.

Actually, I was wrong. Madame Pomfrey (the school nurse) got the highest score too. Given the sheer number of injuries from backfired spells, potion mishaps, dangerous plants, violent creatures, flying accidents, Quidditch injuries, magical diseases, unsanctioned duels, and Merlin knows what else that poor woman has to deal with... yeah, she deserves it.

I joined about 8 years ago so I'm not sure about the Face part but I'm quite sure the Jester comes from Swedish metalband In Flames, Jester is their mascot and appears in the lyrics occasionally.

In Flames was the shiz back then for me, lately.... not so much.

I was 10 years old when I joined the TREKBBS, and my birth name is Stephonie. At the time I used the root of my name for the saying STEP ON IT, and thus STEPhon IT was born.

USS Nova, my favorite ship design and short-lived RPG I had with some friends. Used it as the first member of the official Star Trek Movie Forum and revived it here years later.
