The Opening Credits Font For XI

Superman said:
How many more newbie punks are we going to get because of Trek XI?

It's getting old.

Which is how new posters become old posters. Calling them "punks" is fairly close to flaming; I guess until "noobs" need the approval of "old farts" to post on the Internet we'll continue to get new posters.

I'm more interested in what the music will sound like. Will they use the TOS intro music straight up, integrated into something new, Goldsmith theme? Wait, have they given a composer yet?
Michael Giacchino, as far as I know.

Maybe I don't get this thread.

I plan to be sitting up font by the time of the opening credits myself.

Ah. Well, we'll see I guess. He's got his work cut out for him.

Meh, whichever font looks best.

I'm not so sure the TOS font will be appropriate. Looks great on the poster, but might look a little cheesy on the big screen.

Something simple. Not too intrusive.

Don't, you'll strain your eyes sitting way up font. :D

n00bs, please submit your applications to the grouchy guy with the December '06 reg date for approval.

\ :o /

"Ha hah!"

I've been here since 1999, Mr. 2002 registration date. This wasn't my first username or account.

So kindly refrain from your not-so-clever comments, friend.

Oh yeah, Dennis Bailey. DENNIS FUCKIN' BAILEY is the guy who should be PREACHING to someone about posting etiquette.

Get over yourself, Dennis.

Everyone else has.

Jesus Tiberius Christ, relax, will you? I know you've been here before, under Superman once, The Batman twice (registered simultaneously for two different accounts under the same name -- neat trick!) and probably one or two other names, besides. A lot of other people know it, too. (You must have thought you had us all fooled with your dramatic exits.)

Big Fucking Deal.™

It hasn't made you any smarter or any funnier than you were in 1999. It hasn't made me your friend, either.

Superman, M'Sharak, Polaris, knock this crap off. You have problems with each other hash it out in private. Keep it out of the public forum. Do not drag threads off topic. Any further comments about each other after this post will get a warning.

Personally, I'm hoping to see something like this:

But I'm fine either way. I just think it helps set the mood.

I believe that the font from the opening credits to ENT should be used for the opening of XI to establish continuity with with established canon and show that XI, as well as ENT, truly happened before TOS.

Speaking as an average joe trek fan, I couldn't give a fuck. :)

Sometimes the font in the opening credits have had nothing to do with the preceeding advertising. Examples are The Wrath of Kahn, Generations (up to that point at least), and Nemesis.

I'll tell you one thing, I'm getting an aisle seat, because if I don't like the typeface in the opening credits I'm SO outta the theater.
