Was that even addressed in the movie, other than Khan wearing a broken Starfleet necklace (which also was not mentioned as belonging to her)?

It always bothered me that it was a (then) modern Starfleet belt buckle and not what they had back in TOS.

They were rebooting visual continuity before it was cool!
