News The ongoing next Star Trek movie thread

Sean Hargreaves has posted concept art from a cancelled Star Trek project.

It doesn’t say if it was a movie or show or something else, and there’s no dates on the artwork, the Bridge appears to be in the Kelvin Timeline aesthetic, but there’s also shuttles in the Starfleet Academy art that appear to be based off Voyager’s

There are figures in the Kelvin cadet uniforms in some of the art.

Sean was also concept artist on Beyond and Picard S2-3

That may be the closest we ever get to seeing the Kelvin Enterprise-A bridge...

I am not surprised. The momentum has passed for a new Kelvin timeline movie. They should have started shooting 6 months after Beyond to keep the ball rolling. It's a pity because I did enjoy the movies a lot.

It just feels like a waste. So much potential.

What they needed is a Harve Bennett type: someone in control who had a good feeling for classic Trek and could write an original screenplay while keeping the film way under budget.
Yes, that's just what Star Trek movies need. 11 more Wrath of Khans.

Just saw the news and rushed here.
It's a really sad day, I loved the Kelvinverse.
So much potential just completely wasted. :(
Just like Superman 2025 the next Trek movie iteration will crumble and fall and whither out.
F&k Paramount and the Trek stewards.

what they should have done is made star trek movies after star trek 2009 between 2010 and 2012 then after into the darkness in 2013 there would have been more in 2014 and 2015 then after beyond in 2016 there should have been at least 8 more star trek movies made between 2017 and 2025

there would have been at least 14 or 15 star trek kelvin movies by now

So, critically, I don't think the current Star Trek TV shows will get much more than the criticism and hate they receive. Box office wise, if they plan to keep the films' budgets between $100-120 million and expect to gross perhaps $300-400 million, they will definitely make a profit. Unless, of course, they pull in a disaster like Star Trek Section 31. Anyway, let's not talk about box office here.
