I'm afraid we're already too late for that.... before this conversation devolves into a contest to see who’s better at being condescending.
Dropping it now sounds like a nice idea, though.

There is nothing remotely true about this statement.
Because clearly none of this looks at all like classic Star Trek.*Looks at Discovery and SNW
*Looks at TOS
Your statement is objectively false.
Because clearly none of this looks at all like classic Star Trek.
Yep.... definitely objectively false...
While we're at it, why don't we leave arguments concerning shows not part of the Abramsverse / Kelvin Timeline to be conducted in the forums provided for that purpose?*
How extraordinarily pedantic.Thank you for saving me the effort of having to post the pictures and proving my point exactly.
It looks... close to classic Star Trek. It does not look like classic Star Trek. That's why I used the word "objectively".
Amusingly, Ryan Church had that in mind when he rebooted the Enterprise in 2009 and they actually had to thin the nacelles (and neck) out for BeyondStar Trek Beyond actually visualized something I've always argued about: the nacelle placement of Enterprise is tactically completely disadvantageous.
After SNW, I don't think there are many genuine opportunities for prequels anyway. A lost era show could be the final chance of something set earlier, but it's such a wide gap that the term prequel may not necessarily apply.
It doesn't quite feel that way to me. But eventually, maybe, it will. The 32nd century has still got that "far future" shine to it, but give me time. The new "present" of the Star Trek universe is the 31st century. Any new Trek show or movie set before that time is a "prequel".
We're a little beyond "expected," considering that Academy has been filming for a few months. It doesn't quite feel that way to me. But eventually, maybe, it will. The 32nd century has still got that "far future" shine to it, but give me time.
Besides, after SNW, the chances of another new Trek show isn't exactly guaranteed. Expected, but definitely not guaranteed.

What do you mean? SFA will air before SNW has concluded its run. We're not guaranteed to have a new show after SNW, as nothing has been greenlit. We're a little beyond "expected," considering that Academy has been filming for a few months.
I was just referring to Academy being a newer show than Strange New Worlds. What do you mean? SFA will air before SNW has concluded its run. We're not guaranteed to have a new show after SNW, as nothing has been greenlit.
Oh I see. I probably could've phrased it all better, tbh. Beyond SFA and SNW, it's just a bit murky.I was just referring to Academy being a newer show than Strange New Worlds.
Fair enough.Oh I see. I probably could've phrased it all better, tbh. Beyond SFA and SNW, it's just a bit murky.
So, any more news about a new Star Trek movie yet?
I think we can be forgiven for thinking it's yet another script with the right writer/producer/director credentials, that'll go nowhere... because Skydance or Bad Robot probably always need "something Trek" in development or they'll lose the right to do so.
