The One Guest Star You Wish They Had

commodore64

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Wow - I like the new look of the Ent Forum and the usability for the message board. No more knowing "."

Anyway, I thought I would ask -- who is the guest star you most would've liked to have seen on the show?

I would've liked any of the following (not in order): Bruce Campbell, Leonard Nimoy or Claudia Black (she would've been great as T'Pau, much better than who they had).

Your thoughts?

Ben Browder. I don't care what he's doing. He could have played Chef for all I care.

Dan Aykroyd as a relative of Phlox.

Tommy Lee Jones as Trip's Dad.

Note to the Gene Genie: I'm cheating of course by asking for two wishes. So I may as well go for three...

Looking at a favourite trilogy of mine, beginning with "Babel One", Brian Thompson was miscast as Admiral Valdore. They needed someone angular, thin, someone the equal of Mark Lenard or Andreas Katsulas. Don't get me wrong he did good job but having seen him in action movies, not forgetting several Klingons and Jem'Hadar... he's more of a heavy than a deep thinking schemer. It would've been nice to have Terry O'Quinn back for a Star Trek, maybe playing a Romulan as a neat reversal.

Andrew Robinson as anything. Stephen McHattie(it's a fake) as a real Romulan. Alice Cooper, hey that's interesting.

He actually appeared in "The Xindi" as an un-named foreman.

Oh, and Kesley Grammer as a Vulcan. Lots of ENT Vulcans were condescending prigs, so let's have no holes barred and go for the best. Through in Hyde Pierce too as another Vulcan and that would be one very dry episode. ;)

The one I was hoping for was Dean Stockwell, for a little Quantum Leap reunion. Then once they completely blew that opportunity, I stopped wishing. My original hope was that they could have gotten him as a Q and at first anyway, only Archer could see him. Fanboyish? Perhaps, but it still would have been cute.

He was on the show in Season One's Detained, wasn't he?

Unfortunately, that was EnsignRicky's (legitimate, IMO) point.

If they were going to do "fanwank" casting for an episode of ENT, at least make the Bakula/Stockwell reunion fun! Not some nasty bit where Stockwell's character abuses everybody in sight... Lost opportunity... sad.

James Earl Jones as an uncle of Travis.

Christopher Lloyd at the inventor of the transporter.

John DeLance as Q.

Avery Brooks as a time-traveling Sisko
- to shed a little light on what happened to him after DS9

Kevin James as an Orion pirate.

George Clooney as Archer's brother.

I didn't mind Dean Stockwell being the villain in Detained, but I did want a followup episode with him.

As for the guest star I wanted....
Hugo Weaving as a Vulcan

Bruce McGill as a Starfleet Admiral.

I'd have cast Adam Baldwin as well as the leader of the MACOs on the Enterprise as well.

Bruce Campbell would have been great as Harry Mudd type trying to sell Archer some Orion Slave girls when he really wants to nick the warp five engine.

Yup, as I said, perhaps not clearly enough, of all the parts they could have cast him in, the one that they DID, was quite lame.
